The loss of MT would be huge. We would have to take App. State, Ga. State, NMSU, and a few others just to stabilize things.

This could be just a butt-covering to show that they "tried". Or it could be that ODU has backed off.

Either way FSU and Clemson appear to be flirting with the Big 12 and that will start the whole thing over.

If it all starts over at the top then there is absolutely no telling where it might end up.

By the end of realignment, I fully expect Troy to be heading to the SEC and USA to the PAC12.

My guess is, and it is strictly just that (my source is currently eating an early dinner with the uncle of the brother of someone that knows the AD), that this is CUSA's move to force ODU's hand one way or the other.

I'd hate to see MTSU go.

If I were CUSA I'd certainly be annoyed at ODU at the moment.

+1. ODU, just say yes. Even though I think MTSU will get the invite one day anyway.

We all should have stuck together at the start. We would be inviting them now, or getting ready to see them under us, if we had.

Agreed... SBC would've been better than the CUSA if we'd stuck together...

cusa has not offered yet and just recently started serious talks with them about joining. odu has not had enough time to look at the costs involved in moving up. the odu story was not supposed to be public yet. there is no reason for cusa to be annoyed. we also dont need another football member until uncc is ready to go 1-a

CUSA would not be talking to MTSU if Old Dominion was just waiting for the official board meeting to approve their move.

Old Dominon has not accepted CUSA invite yet and now CUSA knows that they might just say no.
So now the plan is to take MTSU if OD stays put.

Yeah we don't need another FB member till 2015. No reason for us to get to 13 before then.

Fine, yall run off to C-USA and enjoy the extra travel expenses with the same level of competition. Seriously, I just don't see what all the fuss is about with Conference USA anymore. That league is a shell of its former self and on the decline, whereas the Belt is on the rise.
