He actually had a winning record at UT (61-59).
Won 20 games + 3 out of his 4 years there and won or tied the for the North Championship 3 times and went to the NCAA once at Appy. No losing seasons at Appy.
His overall record is 248-184.
DeChellis won 20 games once (20-11 year went to NCAA) in 7 years at ETSU. Won or tied for North 3 time and went to the NCAA once. Had 3 losing seasons.
His overall record 222-257.
You know Pitt I never DID say it but looking at the numbers, Damn maybe we should have hired Peterson instead.

Rod, for years you and I went at it about DeChellis. And you specifically once, when I asked you, said you would have hired Peterson.
I'm sorry you don't remember it. But, then again, it took you eight years (or was it six) to remember if Sam Oatman was in the game or not.

No it took you that long to make up your long winded lie about Oatman getting hurt in the game, I baited you a bit to let you dig yourself deeper then proved the lie the next day. I guess you waited that long to lie about it figuring you could get away with it. You made post about it on 6-25-06 I posted he didn't play on 6-26-06 so it hardly took my anytime

Actually, you don't.
The Bucs were the So Con champs for two years before they broke through the NCAAs.
They slumped in the tournament, true, but let's ask ourselves.
What if Sam Oatman- YES OATMAN- doesn't get hurt with a ten point lead and five minutes left in 2001 against Georgia Southern?
Likely scenario- Bucs hold on and win, possibly win the tournament.
They were a one-point OT loss away from beating Charleston- AT CHARLESTON- in 2002.
So the point here is, and you know I said it at the time, if Smith goes somewhere else- a competent PG still continues to give the ball to a mature Fields and Wadood- the Bucs still go to the NCAAs- and quite possibly doesn't make the boneheaded decisions that prohibited the Bucs from taking the lead on Wake Forest in the NCAAs when the Deacs struggled offensively in the first half.
CERTAINLY no other PG makes the selfish decisions he did at the end that cost the Bucs the game.
And the same thing happened the next year (NO TIM! WE NEED THREE! NO! NO! NO!)
There is no bigger goat- in the HISTORY OF SPORTS IN THE TRI-CITIES- than Tim Smith.
The excuse making that was made for him that overrated him to the point of national attention was absolutely nausiating.

I found the box score for the game According to it Oatman didn't even play in the friggin game againist Georgia Southern. Care to explain?

If you add up those minutes played you will get 200. They didn't forget anybody. So Pitt who is the fool now? I knew you liked to rewrite history but damn now you are just making stuff up. ETSU lost a game because Oatman got hurt late and they blew the lead, even DeChellis said so. Nice story BUT HE DIDN'T EVEN PLAY.
