Are Officially Members Of The Mountain West


We are pleased to announce the addition of San José State University and Utah State University to the ranks of the Mountain West," said Mountain West Commissioner Craig Thompson. "As we have developed the strategy for the future of the Conference, the long-standing rivalries with our current members and the fit within our geographic footprint made these two institutions the optimal choices to strengthen our membership and position ourselves for the next steps."

Those next steps include continued consideration of a future association between Conference USA and the Mountain West. The two leagues have synchronized their new membership decisions and are still determining what form the alliance will take.

If that doesn't happen add Idaho & New Mexico State now!

Looking at this line up, who are the flagship f/b schools? Air Force, Fresno St, Hawaii & Nevada? I believe last year was the first time in ages that Utah St had a winning season. The rest are bottom feeders. The Mtn West is no longer a force. Should they lose Air Force or Fresno St, things get worse for them.

I don't know how the MWC stands as a football conference, but they're still very much a player in basketball and I think that they should spend more time focusing there. Unless Boise were to come back, basketball is where this conference is going to earn its money.

I wish we didn't have another year to go. I'm ready for the Mountain West now!

Really, especially without Boise State and San Diego State.

McMurphyCBS SEC adding Independence as record 10th bowl tie in for 2012 & 13, sources tell @CBSSports. SEC will play ACC in bowl

With this news I think that MWC should pick up Idaho to get locked in on the Potato bowl for 2013+ then just pick up NM St so you can have divisions to save on travel and a conference championship game.

BSU and SD St are not coming back.

You guys should make a serious run at the Kraft bowl too.
