The Charlotte/ODU CUSA announcements kind of throws everything into a tailspin for Colonial and the Atlantic 10.

Its clear that any school in the Colonial right now wants out badly to an FBS conference or the A-10. That we pretty much know. ESPN has dropped the CAA from bracket busters and one of its best basketball teams is now gone.

The problem is we don't know what the Atlantic-10 wants to do at this point. Does the A-10 really want to go to 16?

Maybe the A-10 decides to just go back to 14 with Butler and George Mason. VCU while a nice basketball school is located in a smaller market already represented (Richmond) by the A10. VCU might also want to hang around the Colonial in the event they want to start a football team. Plus they have all those NCAA units coming to them that would not want to give up.

I think Butler/George Mason is the right call here for the A10 but we'll have to see.
I don't see VCU being uninvited. No way would they rather stay in a conf. where Drexel is now the best basketball team. A10 was talking about Creighton a few weeks ago, so it sounds like they were thinking along the lines of Charlotte being gone. It just depends if the eastern schools want to go out that far west for another add.
