MyBB Report: Virginia Tech eyeing (NC State assistant) Lutz
Crap! We were just starting to get BB back on track. Not sure how much this, if it happens, would affect that.

Dunno, if I were VPI I would insist that growing the pornstache back be a condition of employment.

Of all the finalist I've read about, I like Lutz the best.

Hey Wolf pack fans, do you know anything about your other assistants or Director of Basketball operations?

Lutz officially withdrew his name today. It looks like VT current Clemson assistant and former VT assistant (2 weeks ago) James Johnson. Awkward?

RE: Report: Virginia Tech eyeing (NC State assistant) Lutz
So let me get this right...

James Johnson leaves to be an assistant at Clemson, turning down an equal match from AD Weaver, while stating his decision was about more than money.

Weaver, upset and disturbed, fires Greenberg.

Weaver uses Bobby Lutz as a cover -- ok, I added that line, but you have to go "hmmmmmmmm" sometimes, right?

Now, Weaver is poised to hire James Johnson as head coach.

And I'm supposed to accept this at face value, right? In some circles, one might consider this 'backstabbing'... #justsaying

Guess he didn't want to grow the pornstache back.

I've heard from a number of sources that the final nail in Greenberg's coffin was the exit interviews by Johnson and others associated with the VT program. The common theme was Greenberg was impossible to deal with, and it's a pretty well known fact he generally acted like an ass to everybody in the athletic department. If you are going to act like that you better have a ton of wins and deep NCAA tournament runs to fall back on. Greenberg didn't and now he's gone.

Sounds like Bobby Knight syndrome. Are the chairs bolted down?

So now VT has an inexperienced new head coach with basically no staff going into May... looks like another banner year for the cagers!

Alright -- I can live with that explanation, though it still 'tastes' odd that Johnson is the replacement.
