Oddly enough, I think his rationale is a sound one. He's never gonna need an I.Q. test again if he manages his money properly. Cornerback is definitely one of the positions you can get away with not being very smart, so why does he need to take it? It tells you absolutely nothing about the kind of football player, or the kind of kid he is. Deadspin's take on it was great, comparing football players taking the wonderlic to aspiring teachers running a 40 yard dash.

The results are supposed to be private too, which tells you a lot about the kind of people the NFL hires, seeing how they leak this nonsense. Clearly, Dallas didn't care that Claiborne didn't finish the test...so much so that they traded up for him. I'm glad they found it to irrelevant to the type of player Claiborne has potential to be.
