$100,000 to coach golf?!?!?!?!?! SWEET GIG! I'll save ETSU some money and do it for $80K . . . . give me summers off and I'll take $50K.

To answer your question, I don't think ETSU can afford big salary anythings. I wonder how much the other head coaches around here make? I read somewhere that the average A-Sun head basketball coach salary is around $140K. I'm guessing Murray is above that figure? Maybe $180K? My opinion is that the only ETSU coach deserving of six figures just retired: Dave Walker.

Like I keep saying, how long will Noland put up with this crap? They're spending $11 million a year on this farce. Either he takes charge, becomes boss, cuts his ties with the previous administration, and starts making some real changes, or he becomes one of them and ETSU athletics is burned toast.

Yeah I want stuff to be done but the AD is only a small part of Nolands job and he hasn't been on the job that long.
He has the needs of a whole university to take care of and learn and alot of them are more important then the "needs" of the posters on this board, myself included.

Don't know how small the AD is to Noland, but that $11 million a year that this AD is spending is sure to command his attention at some point. Noland has stated that he sees athletics as the front porch or window onto the university. At present he is paying big bucks for a tiny window and a one chair front porch.

Warren's program is almost all privately funded. Plus, he donates a good portion of money he makes in other avenues back to ETSU. Warren is a bad argument.
It is what it is guys. It's not going to change, we can piss and moan until we puke but ETSU athletics will continue to operate status quo.

I think ETSU overall budget is 430 some million. Like I said bigger fish to fry. 11 million is around 2.5% of that.

Yep, athletics is far from the biggest concern for a new president, no matter what the quality is of that department.
