The three schools would help replace schools that are leaving the A-10. Temple is headed to the Big East and sources told CBSSports.com that Charlotte has received an “informal invitation” to the Sun Belt. The 49ers are starting up a football program in 2013 at the FCS level, but couldn't make a move to the FBS until 2015.

I think UNCC would be a good market grab to compliment Georgia State. But the chest pumping of winning conference titles in Track and Golf is very annoying.

I think Charlotte to SBC just became even less likely

I can see the CAA going for App St, Jax St, and Georgia Southern. That would be a pretty decent league.

Geographically it makes no since for Georgia Southern to join. The travel would be awful.

Maybe a Socon/CAA merger????

I don't know why we invite a team that hasn't yet played a down of football and won't be in the league for another 3 years. So much can change by then.

I guess they can go for whomever they want to, App State has made FBS intent known so they may be speaking to deaf ears.

From what I understand, VCU and GMU are pretty much locks. UNCC to SBC looks good too.

All sports to SBC? Probably not. Football is still a possibility. This means that CUSA won't want them, most likely, since they wouldn't be an all-sports add.

If those teams go to the Atlantic 10, I think it'd be pretty sweet if the Sun Belt merged with the A-10. That'd be a nice little basketball side of the conference. It would have a makeup similar to the Big East... and then the SBC would be in great position to keep teams simply because of the revenue that would be generated.

Of course, this scenario has almost a zero chance of happening, but it's fun to think of...

Take UNCC without basketball? Not just no...but HELL no. If they want to play in the Sun Belt. They can move ALL sports there. And even then, I'm not sure they're tops on the list.

If the sun belt ever added uncc as a football only member I would be beyond disappointed. They have played zero downs of football and therefore they they bring no on the field value. Allowing them to place their football program in the Sun Belt and keep all other sports in another league would be the ultimate insult.

If uncc must be added then fine, but adding them as a football only member only hurts the league. I would rather add any fcs program as a full member over Charlotte as football only member which includes Savannah State. Yes I said Savannah State!

I agree, I am not the biggest fan of letting just about any old start up program in the Sun Belt... I would rather someone else. Like anyone else.

Agreed. I love the idea of Charlotte, but taking them football only would be foolish.

VCU, George Mason, & Butler in the A10 would make for a heck of a basketball conference
