Not really that fair of a comparison.

Two of the best basketball programs in history play here. A third has a national championship.

None of the football programs in this state have ever been worth much.

Please explain that........so the unprecedented back to back to back national titles that App State has won are not worth much? The conference championships, a win against a Big Ten team that was ranked AP #5 and had national title mentions...........this is all worthless. All of that is in recent history, b/c we can start talking about overall winning percentages. How about the fact that we can outdraw all of the ACC schools in NC for attendence minus UNC on a good day when the start time lines up with happy hour and NC State.
Are you really hanging your hat on a win over an overrated Big 10 team that turned out not to be very good all season? If that's all it matters, then Charlotte's basketball program must be super relevant. Oh wait, it's not.

Congrats on your titles, nobody outside of NC cares or even knows unless they are an FCS fan. Your Michigan win was bigger in the eyes of the nation than your back to back to back titles. FCS titles are great for your fanbase, but are irrelevant on the national scene. Don't get me wrong, I'd be excited if Charlotte had one, but I wouldn't pretend like anyone other than Charlotte fans care or that anyone that isn't an FCS fan would even know, much less remember 5 years later.

PS, you have a track around your football field.

2. You can likely figure out what I'm going to say next about UNC-Concord....................

no hat hanging, just presenting a counter argument to your black and white fallacy that "none of the programs in the state have ever been worth much". You should think before you potty at the mouth.

Better conference says who? and why are you lurking on the Belt forums if you are CUSA bound? 03-puke

BTW: I wasn't laughing at you, just the comments on the blog link you posted. No need to go smack talk so quickly.

Very cute, I hope you didn't put too much time into that.

I really see a vast majority of our fanbase, myself included as more favorable towards the Sunbelt due to regional travel costs. I know we have our CUSA following, just like we have our stay FCS gathering too. I see the competition in the Sunbelt as better than what CUSA has to offer right now, the only pull to CUSA being ECU and Marshall and the history our program has with them football wise. I guess history and football is where you were just lost in this.

Better Conference is debatable

And besides, App State could very well come in and compete for the league title in the SBC, while Charlotte finishes last in the Alliance.

With AQ gone...its not like you have a better shot a title or something in the alliance.

Okay, clearly you've never followed the bolded teams...all of which are nearly bankrupt.

I don't know why we invite a team that hasn't yet played a down of football and won't be in the league for another 3 years. So much can change by then.

We'll get them all prepped in 2015 for the next round of realignment. Maybe we'll get one football year out of them.
