So where should he go? New York? Atlanta?

Nah, you're overreacting Bleeds. We can still keep our hatred of the Packers and cheer on Chandler can't we? And, it's still fun to laugh at fans that are dumb enough to buy worthless shares of stock!

Green Bay Packers' stock: Hot, yet worthless

"Yesterday the team put up 250,000 shares for sale at $250 each and got 1,600 orders in the first 11 minutes. Pretty impressive considering it pays no dividends, the value doesn't increase and it has no resale value. So it's kind of like Greek treasury bonds.

The reigning Super Bowl champion Packers made the stock offering - its first since 1997 - to raise funds for renovations at Lambeau Field, the team's home in Green Bay, Wis. The team is the U.S.'s only non-profit, community-owned major league sports team. Founded in 1919, the Packers went public in 1923 and this sale marks only the fifth stock sale in team history.

The team makes no effort to hide the worthlessness of the stock."
I have no problem with him going to the Packers, I was astounded at those that thought that would be a bad destination for him. I would be thrilled with him learned under Aaron Rodgers. Back him up for a few years, then move on!

PLEASE! You WISH the Bears were a publicly owned team. It really is the best thing ever. Packers will never leave. We never have an old ass owner to run us into the ground. Its really something quite special that fans cherish. It has nothing to do with making a profit. Something you can't understand. Its about owning a small piece of your favorite team.

You don't own ANYTHING. You have no voting rights on any operational decisions. The stock certificates are worthless pieces of paper, nothing more. But if it makes you feel better to shell out $250, frame the certificate and mount it on your wall, have at it.

I'm sure all the other NFL owners would love for their teams to be "publicly" owned. But they know that their fans aren't gullible enough to fall for it. To quote a Packer fan from an ESPN story, "I could have just as well thrown my money out the window for what I get for it, other than a feel-good."

Packers stocholders vote annually for the board members. They can attend shareholders meetings (usually at Lambeau) and get a tour of Lambeau.

I got a tour of Soldier Field for attending their draft party a few years back. Much cheaper than $250.

I'd much rather have a tour of Huskie Stadium, complete with Joe's old office and the urinal trough. Now that's history with lots of meaning!!
