Looks like CUSA is going to force the BCS to create an auto-bid for them with a stellar opening weekend.

No mention of Syracuse, probably the second or third best program in the new Big East.

Syarcuse is 3rd best? Really? I believe Rutgers beating Michigan State in their opener might have something to say about that. I also happen to think PITT, UCONN and BC are better than SU. Surely a top 10 West Virginia Mountaineer squad could handle the Orangemen. In fact I'd bet SU is at the bottom of the league this year. Congrats on your win against the Rebs. It's the only thing NCUSA can hang its hat on this year. I'll take a loss by a conference mate to a top 25 Purdue squad no matter how bad over losses to Kansas, Rice and Troy on the SAME DAY ANY DAY.

Give me a break.

now wait a minute, here... give CUSA some props.

They are trumpeting on the CUSA board a 4-3 record against BCS teams.

Louisville beat Kentucky, don't forget...

uh, wait... UL is going to the BE.

OK, so 3-3. TCU beat that powerhouse Northwestern....

uh... darn it I forgot... TCU is going to the MWC.

OK, so 2-3.

Congrats to UAB for their win over BCS powerhouse Baylor. And in all seriousness, that was a great win for Memphis over Ole Miss. Hopefully we'll be welcoming Memphis to our conference in the not-so-distant future.

so, 2-3.

Well... i guess 2-4, since future CUSA member UCF lost to Wisky.

err... 2-5, if you count future CUSA member UTEP getting demolished by Arizona State.

actually.... 2-6 if you count future CUSA member SMU losing at home to Texas Tech.

then there was Tulsa's magical performance against a mediocre Kansas team... 2-7.

to be fair, 2-6... take Cincy's loss to OSU out of the equation, too.

2 and 6 against BCS competition. And then there's Marshall's loss to Troy State... which is quite a different category altogether.

Yikes... we better run, we better hide... the new CUSA is breathing down our collective necks.

Syracuse is not the 3rd best team in the Big East THIS YEAR let alone the new Big East. Hopefully their athletic department has plans to get a new coach in there and put Syracuse back where they belong among the national names. On a side note, I think that Pitt will be one of the surprise teams in the nation this year. They have a favorable schedule that should allow them to go on an extended winning streak and crack the Top 25 this year. I think that Pitt will finish 2nd in the Big East this year and bring in a strong class next year.

Well since this is 2004 Louisville is still in CUSA so that would make us 4-3 against BCS programs for the year. Start claiming the Cards after the season is over.

THe 2004 BE is looking fantastic. Congrats to you guys. I'm sure New Hampshire will make a great addition to the NBE. Oh wait, they were not invited. Darn. So much for Rutgers having their act together. Maybe Mike Transexual should rethink the New Hampshire invite.

At least UConn demolish Duke by 2 pts. Duke is a power in ACC.................basketball.

Wait did Syracuse beat Buffalo??? They were giving Bledsoe and Co. all they could handle. I mean it was the Bills they were playing right? It wasn't the Bills? Sheeeessshhh!

Again, I'm a firm believer that one week doesn't make or break a conference. But the 2004 addition of the BE sucks so far. It's WVU, BC (who leaving for a better life) and a bunch of weak sisters. Good things those superhero teams from CUSA will be there to rescue the NBE next year. You can't go wrong with the Bearcats and Bulls football pedigree.

I love the way CUSA fans want to "claim" Louisville to boost their arguments concerning football strength. Then want to talk about UC and USF bringing down the Big East in the same breath. No matter want happens this season Louisville, Cincinnati and South Florida left CUSA months ago.

Yeah it's coming from a UAB fan. U gotz problems with that? Yeah we haven't been to a bowl game in our brief history as of yet. But facts don't lie, 3rd best conference in CUSA the past 5 years. Behind USM and some other school.

I don't have a problem with you posting it. As long as you post it on the CUSA board. It continues to amaze me the number of CUSA fans that find their way here to tell us how great it is in CUSA and how bad it is in the Big East. And whats more amazing is the CUSA fans can't understand why those of us in the Big East don't agree with them.
