About par for the course... Anything positive in regards to UT having numerous academic All-America student-athletes, or having one of the highest overall GPA in the MAC, would be relegated to the back pages of the sports section...

Sheesh. It's curious that the editors do not feel that there is anything more important going on in the world than this isn't it?

The Blah article also noted that the MAC will follow the NCAA lead and not allow The Rockets to play in tournament. Yet, another example of how the MAC doesn't care about Toledo!!!!! It just love our money and attendance numbers......

Hee, hee. No, but I received a post card in the mail stating that I would be getting the Sunday paper free for 10 weeks starting Sunday, the 15th. I didn't get my free paper on Sunday. I'm kinda mad about that, though. :muttering: stupid carrier....

no league would allow a team banned from the postseason to play in their conference tournament -- see Big east/uconn (basketball), Ohio state/big ten (football).

USC wasn't allowed to play in the PAC 12 c-ship in football because they were banned from postseason play.

RE: APR Story On Blade Front Page
Interesting part for me is comparing UConn (same coach with a ton of baggage and bad record on a number of things) to our mess with 3 coaches in 25 months). The NCAA is really glad to have us in the same boat as UConn so that there two schools they can point to with the problem. It probably keep them from yeilding to the Big East/UCon pressure you know they are getting to look the other way. "What does not kill you, makes you stronger!"

Ohio State didn't qualify for the Big 10 championship in football in 2011 which is the only year it has been played to date. They did play in a bowl game for the 2011 season losing to Florida in the Gator Bowl (aka - the Urban Meyer Bowl). Pretty sure that was the case because Fickel already knew he wasn't going to be the head coach in 2012 at the bowl game.

Also - didn't UConn lose in their conference tournament - or maybe I am thinking of Syracuse. Don't recall.

I'm not talking about last year. They're ineligible this coming year.
