Alright it's time to rename the conference. Give your top three choices for renaming the sunbelt. Please limit these to names that arnt already conference names. Former conference names that arnt in existence are admissable.

How about the Sun Belt, because there is no reason to rename the conference.

Anything that has been built up to this point will be completely lost if the conference is renamed. We will be starting from scratch, setting us back 10 years. What purpose and advantage is there to renaming the conference???

I would agree but for SOME reason the words Sun Belt and irrelevance seem to be linked despite evidence that the league has vastly improved. We were mocked for being a "start up" league because of the FCS pullups that were done (FAU and FIU especially as they were really not ready). Yet when the WAC or Alliance discusses FCS pullups as possiblities no one seems to mind.

For whatever reason people look down on the Sun Belt. If changing the name changes that perception then perhaps it should be done.

I don't think renaming the conference will change perceptions about our group of schools. Why change the name so that the new name gets a stigma attached to it as well and we are in the same boat? At least Sun Belt carries weight in baseball, now softball, and tennis among others. We were a formerly a great basketball conference and can get back there. I'd keep Sun Belt just because the new name would have the same perception and at least Sun Belt is established. A new name would make us seem more FCS-like in my mind (new name = new kid on the block in people's mind).

I think your on the right track.

I think the 'Belt should align itself with a 3 letter monkier as you suggested above or a "Big" designation.

Perhaps the solution is even simpler then we thought, Maybe the confrence should just use SBC more instead of SUN BELT. Every other BCS confernce is known by thier 3 letters or a "Big" tag.

I think gulf coast conference (GCC) is my favorite. I also like southern athletic association (SAA)
