Any CPC news?
Is Saturday just the ceremonial groundbreaking or are they starting work right away? Anyone hear the latest as to where we are on donation levels? When do they anticipate this will be open for public donations?
They are doing such a poor job with keeping the website up to date I have to post on this board with questions in hopes of getting updates.

I have not heard a word on this. I agree the website is poorly used. If they did not want to give an update on progress then they shouldn't have put those areas in the site.
Why do almost all of our websites seem to either be out of date or not complete? Why add a page when there is nothing on it?

If they can find him, then we'll know where he is.

RE: Any CPC news?
Hello Gang - Got this information from Mark Muhlhauser and the folks at the NIU Foundation and they said it would be OK to share it with you. Hope it answers the questions!
Saturday’s CPC Groundbreaking is ceremonial as it is our best opportunity this academic year to bring together coaches and student-athletes, leadership gift donors and university administrators prior to the time that construction will begin.
Currently, intensive work IS underway on final engineering and developing detailed construction plans so that construction can begin mid-summer.
Our fundraising team is closing out the leadership and major gift phases of the CPC campaign, which is focused on securing commitments of $25,000 and above. The next phase encompasses special gifts, in which we are seeking multi-year pledge commitments of $2,500 and above. The “public” Brick and Paver Campaign for one-time gifts of $1,000 and less will begin this summer.
An update on the current fundraising totals will be given Saturday at the Groundbreaking Ceremony.

This is good news they appear to be farther along than they have been communicating or lack there of. It does not seem doable that the IPF will be ready for next spring practice unless we really move it along.

I think someone said they are trying to get it ready for the end of the 2013 season. Bcase senario is that its ready on Homecoming 2013.

LOL I don't think this has anything to do with NIU or athletics. Its just an event being held at the convo.
