Tiger game thread
Anyone watching this kid from the Royals throwing smoke right now against us?

Go Tigers!

RE: Tiger game thread
I love Rod Allen...

"verlander is the type of pitcher where if you can't can't get to him early, you won't get to him at all."

Sure Rod...except for his very last start against the Rays when they rallied in the 9th.

FYI-JV has retired 8 in a row...

I laughed like a mad man when I heard Inge hit that homer when I turned the game on. Nice to see Verlander finish, sure makes it interesting, thought the Rodney coaster was back for a minute.

Verlander almost blew it again. Made me nervous. Glad we pulled it out.

RE: Tiger game thread
When we're in the playoffs and JV has a 5+ ERA again, I'm pointing to games like this where he threw 131 pitches as to why.

If that was a dirty joke, the "we" thing is just creepy.

RE: Tiger game thread
This has nothing to do with the Tigers...but this is a sick throw. MLB just tweeted the video.

http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?conten...234638-996

Although the Tiger win from last night immediately follows it.

FYI-The guy on third is pretty darn fast.

That's an awesome throw.

Baseball highlights are my favorite.

Have him throw the ball 250 feet from home plate and he can fire a strike...put him on the mound...not so much.

I remember watching Ankiel pitch. Watching his melt down was sad.

Speaking of throws...I can't believe Peralta tried to take 3rd last night with Franceour in LF.

I didn't see that play last night. Wasn't it Peralta that Franceour gunned down at third base last year too?

RE: Tiger game thread
I don't know if it was him from last year, I remember him being sick with a throw though. I don't know why anyone runs on him, he reminds me of Kaline with his accuracy and strong arm.

Clemente used to throw it in the stands once in a while, but his was the strongest I've seen.

I like the left-hander Smyly right now.

And as I type this, he gets drilled in the back by a line drive and chucks the ball into right field.

Unbelievable

At 8-3, the Tigers are off to their best 11-game start since 1984. What did they do that season? Win the World Series.

And they only need to go 27-2 to match that '84 start.

That was surreal. Even Wilcox was untouchable during that stretch.
