Working on a big facility announcement story about #MTSU athletics for tomorrow (artist renderings included). How's that for a teaser?

Probably a huge new basketball palace seating upwards of 15,000 with luxury boxes and suites.

That would be nice. Basketball palaces are good. I've been (pipe) dreaming about a nice new modern arena with that type of seating for a while.

At least they will not have to worry about those upper bleachers anymore if that's the case.

I'm thinking indoor facility with indoor track and possibly athletic department offices attached. I have heard massaro say in the past that they are out growing the murphy center office space. This will lead the way for major Murphy center renovations in the future (luxury boxes and permanent upper deck with new restroom/concession facilities). If there is enough money then maybe they'll go ahead and announce some of these renovations too. It's not baseball, softball, soccer or outdoor track since all those facilities are essentially brand new. Has to be football/basketball in my mind.

Yep. Adam Sparks retweeted someone saying "Can't believe the square footage of this thing!". Probably a track/football/AD offices thing...

Bringing it up in every post won't increase the likelihood of it happening 561. 03-melodramatic

No, the Cajuns have a full size indoor practice facility for football. (100 Yards + end zones.) It is also used by other sports.

Congratulations on whatever you guys are going to build. I'm always happy to read about other Sun Belt programs success both on and off the field.

dnj excerpt:

Quote:The fundraising campaign received a jump-start from the family of the late Carolyn Reeves, an MTSU alumnus and avid tennis player. The family requested, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made toward building the MTSU indoor tennis center.

Knowing how much she loved tennis and MTSU, friends of Reeves did as she requested, with her children, Shane and Marsha, getting the campaign underway with a donation toward the fund. The family has also made a commitment for another gift that will be made at a later date.

While the facility looks nice this was kind of disappointing.

All these guesses of awesome stuff and then it comes down to...tennis.

Exciting.
