My entire food budget in a month is just over a quarter of that and I consider myself a little wasteful..

ok this makes more sense... IN ca my cutoff for maximum benefits would be an income of 31K and at that level I would get 650$ a month (which is pretty close to my budget)

Honestly, if you have a family and don't live in the backwater rural areas of CA, then you need atleast $119K to survive in CA.

California has no conscience what it comes to spending taxpayer money.
