How will Archie Goodwin do at Kentucky?
I've never really seen him play in a real game. Only pick up games, and that was a couple of years ago. He's obviously the real deal if Calipari recruited him. He's a player who could have possibly brought national attention to a program like UALR, and it's a shame we can't land players like that.

I think of Elena Delle Donne who was player of the year, signed with UConn, but goes back home to play for little Delaware, and puts them on the national map. That's what we need to happen. Somehow our coaching staff needs to be able to convince some of these great local players to stay. If we develop a relationship with these kids when they are junior high players, like some of these big schools do, that might be what it's going to take to land those type of kids.

I'm not naive enough to think we're going to beat out Kentucky for a kid, but we should have an advantage with every local kid over every out of state school. We're here. We can get to know them on a personal level. Maybe that's where we've been behind in our recruiting. But it takes salesmanship to do it. Horse is dead. Beating stopped!01-lauramac2

I've never seen him play. My son did say he scored 14 points in the McDonald's All-American game the other day.

I think he can do some things besides score. More of a slasher and penetrator than a great shooter, at least that's what I've been led to believe. It will really be interesting to watch his career because I thought a few years ago he might make UALR a decent player. Shows what I know.
