FIU rebuilding year?
Just noticed you lose your #1 QB, #1 WR, and #2 RB to graduation, among others. I don't know who the playmakers were on the defensive end of the ball last year for you guys.

Give me reasons not to expect a slaughter in the Brighthouse next season 05-stirthepot

You should expect a slaughter at the Brighthouse just like you expected a slaughter last year in the cage. 05-mafia

True. Things can always turn around and hand you things you never thought would ever happen.

But we return our entire squad, with the exception a few non-essential players, with more experience under their belts in front of a crowd more than twice the size of the cage.

Thoughts? 07-coffee3

I think they are loaded with talent. The backup QB did an excellent job this year when the #1 went down. Hard to replace TY Hilton though. FIU is a good solid football team.

I'll give you three: Defense, Defense Defense.

And this sounds like the same brash talk that lead you down a dismal path last year.

RE: FIU rebuilding year?
T.Y Hilton got injured early in the game versus UCF last year, therefore wasn't much of a factor with only 3 catches and not many plays directed at him in the second half. We do return all 11 starters on defense, we return the kickers, and return 8 of 11 starters (We lose our QB, an OL, and T.Y.) on offense. Of course, T.Y. is a big loss, but the QB situation may end up being a better situation than with the previous QB at some point in the season.

RE: FIU rebuilding year?
Hmmm I see. I'd like to know more.

As for us, to return the favor, we return a pure passing threat in Blake Bortles (as you probably well know, Jeff Godfrey transferred to FAU). He's a Redshirt Sophomore next season, and was extremely efficient. He played the majority of the UCF @ USM game, the same USM that beat #8 Houston for the CUSA CCG, and went 12-2 on the season. We lost by one point, on a botched 2 point conversion.

We return our two best running backs, and inject redshirt sophomore, 4 star, Miami Transfer Storm Johnson. We'll know by then how good he is, because we play Akron and Ohio State before yall. We also add a 2 year Georgia Tech starter Olineman.

I'll tell you one thing though, I know that game will be packed. Not only with FIU fans, hopefully, but with angry UCF fans, not only to make up for last year, but to legitimize our new found conference invitation.

I hope everyone makes it up 04-cheers

Good! I did think that side of the stadium looked weird on tv... I never like the look of non-enclosed stadiums.

Hopefully a guy that can coach offense at the FBS level. I know the guy was apparently great in Boone but damn were his offenses hard to watch in Miami (aside from the couple plays each game TY dropped everyones' jaws).

You should get the results you want, New Hamphire has had a great offense the past decade, a very fast team.

Oh hey panthers, btw, I just noticed this... You guys are our home opener. Guarantee a packed house.

I would recommend if you plan on coming up, get all your things in order well in advance. East Orlando will be a mad house.

Good. That side of the stadium looked like crap. Glad to see FIU stepping up to improve facilities. 04-cheers

Why will it be a madhouse?

Traffic leading to the university from the major highways is not well suited for the amount of people that will be tailgating, visiting, going to the game, loitering etc. Demand will be high for very nearby hotels, and pretty much everything will be slowed down by a factor of 5. It is prudent to plan things in advance.
