Anyone see the utter glee they took in tearing down the Big East on Gameday?

Wow. Welcome to our world, if only temporarily.

Frankly, it made me sick. Just like it makes me sick to see them degrade non-BCS schools and hold them to ridiculous standards to even get an ounce of respect from them, simply because we're not in their little club. Then again, at least you guys get the money.

It is ok, because help is on its way for next year!

--Boy....you NCUSA guys have been waiting all summer for this haven't you??....Well a 10-1 WVU team is still going to finish in the top 10

-- And just for the record....perhaps you should hold your criticsm untill our league is actaully in place.....I don't think the complaining would be nearly as loud if UC, Louisville and USF were in this yr and Temple was gone

-- Another thought on the media.....the BE TV contract is in arbatration......so expect ESPN/ABC to marginalize the BE has much as possible...I fully expect for this kind of bashing to carry over into hoops as well.....I can here the talking heads now saying the Big 12 is the best overall confernce....the BE doesn't have anyone that can compare to Duke and Carolina...blah...blah blah.....this media bashing the BE ( in all sports) is going to get worse before it gets better...the fact that we have had the last two national champions will be of little consequence

First off a 10-1 WVU team will not be in the Top 10. Matter of fact, I'll go out on a limb and predict that the Eers will lose another game.

I agree with you about holding criticism of the NBE and NCUSA until both are in place. But we both know that isn't going to happen.

And no I don't agree with you about what the media perception will be about the NBE Basketball. Everyone on this side and the other side of the Mississippi River knows this is going to be the best basketball conference bar none. Although I do feel 16 teams is just too big and something will eventually happen to downsize it one way or another.

I know this was a tough loss for you to swallow Jackson but you'll survive.

-- If we play like we did yesterday....we'll lose more then one more....it is essential that WVU control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball...and yep...its alway a tough to lose to VT...I'll really hate to see that series end

Perhaps I should go over to the CUSA board and start numerous threads about the negative crap I hear the media say about the next year's CUSA. No reason to do that because the Nazi ECU Board moderator would just delete it, just as this crap should be deleted here.

PS......A UAB fan talking smack about UofL is hilarious. UAB has NEVER beaten Louisville in football NEVER......Truth be told their lucky to have a football team. I agree with Tide fans that say "if you lose to UAB you should give up football altogether."

We are 16th/18th in the polls. Just after some quick glancing at the schedules of the teams ahead of us, I don't think it's impossible to be #10 by the end of the year. UT plays UGA next week, Wisconsin plays OSU, Michigan plays Minnesota. WVU has a good chance to move up 2 or 3 spots next week alone.

The fact that it's even debatable as to whether you are 4th or 3rd speaks volumes about the irrelevancy of your pathetic program even in your own state.

Of course the same can be said for pretty much every program in that horrendous conference. Not a single one is any more than an after thought in their own state. Sad.

I'm sorry but I'm just really sick of Conference USA fans coming on here posting articles bashing the Big East and foaming at the mouth every time a Big East school loses or a sports commentator questions the auto-bid. It gets old.

I wasn't even trying to crack on the BE. I was saying how irritating it was to see them basically call you non-BCS and act like you're worthless (meaning that we, as non-BCS schools, are also worthless). The BE possibly inviting us is our best (only) shot at getting into a BCS conference (something we see ourselves as deserving, though that's not to suggest that the rest of our non-BCS compadres deserve to be treated how they are) in the next five to ten years. The BE toppling down to non-BCS levels wouldn't really help us achieve that goal.
