I envy you, and you are seeing Ben have another great round: 5-under through 14 today and 12-under overall puts him in 5th place.

Axeme - It was great to watch! He executed well and putted well for most of the day. I even happened to meet his wife and we walked with her for a couple of holes -- she was very pleasant! I'm glad he's having a good tournament and hope for a Sunday charge!

Those three missed putts on 16-17-18 were tough. Still in great shape for another excellent finish today.

RE: Golf is great
The women are involved in a tough one this weekend in Indiana in their quest for their 14th straight MAC championship. They had a 5 shot lead after two rounds, but Toledo closed to 2 back early on this morning.

As they reach the turn, the women have pushed the lead up to 7.

On the back nine with a 10-shot lead on UT. Looks like we will bring this one home.

Lead up to 16 with 6 to go. Mercedes Germino has moved into a tie for the lead after starting the day 4 back. She is ranked #55 in the country, the top ranked player in the MAC.

Rack up another trophy for the women! 16 shot victory. Mercedes Germino finished one shot back of a tie between a UT and BSU player. The BSU player had a hole-in-one on the 15th to push her up to the top.

Ben never really go it going today until it was too late. At one point he was 2-over today, then made a late run on the back 9 to finish -1/71/-11. Looks like 13th place. Still an excellent week.

Ben moves up into the top 20 on the money list by cashing $116,480 yesterday (20th, actually) and moves up to #24 in the FedEx Cup point standings.

Ben tees off tomorrow at 8 a.m. at Quail Hollow in Charlotte at the Wells Fargo Championship. Big time field at this one. Pretty much all the top players in the world tuning up for next week's Player's Championship. He's playing with Zach Johnson and Johnson Wagner for the first two days.

Go Ben!

RE: Golf is great
Solid 3-under par round today puts him 3 shots out of the lead with a bunch of people still on the course.

Could-a, would-a, should-a been a couple shots better but for a couple of missed short putts. But also made a couple of longer ones. Good opening round. Nice to see Ben is still playing very well. This is another tough course.

Just out of curiosity, anyone know why the Akron folks haven't updated the PNC Wagon Wheel standings to reflect the KSU Women's Golf MAC title?

By my count we should now be up 6-4.

Ten stroke lead over 2nd place BG after the first of two rounds today. The third place team EMU is 14 down. Good start.

RE: Golf is great
Yeah, great round on a very tough course. They were only up two strokes with about three holes to go. Four birdies to close.

The second round is almost complete. The difference between 2nd and last is 20 strokes. The difference between Kent and 2nd is 28 strokes. I'd say we had a good first day.
