The TVA had a proposal on the board at their Allen Steam Plant in Memphis to improve and upgrade the 50 year old coal fired facility but have now all but scrapped that plan in favor of a new cleaner burning state of the art natural gas fired plant for roughly half the price. Natural gas is so plentiful and inexpensive now that many companies are capping wells and ceasing production.

So? If you go after just gas, you'll get prices back high in a few years, and electric prices will follow. Then there won't be coal available as an alternative.

And the poor, including the miners (aka "working man") will suffer. That's what makes you a liar.

And that's if they don't crack down on the fracking that has made natural gas cheap. Leftists are fighting the success that has come from fracking.
