Why add Fresno state when they have the king of losers STDU asssticks

Years 2000 - 2009 38 wins 80 losses

So Fresno would be a better choice to join the Big East than AFA because SDSU had a terrible football team for nine years? Got it.

Like the facts that AF outdraws Fresno State and leads them in games head-to-head?

Yeah, 4-2 is a real game changer. 01-wingedeagle

I posted relevant facts. You posted irrelevant opinion.

Uh 4-2 isnt really relevant. Records vs actual BCS competition isnt irrelevant opinion. I went back ten years with records. Thats actually fact.

Head-to-head competition is relevant. So is this.

Air Force HC Troy Calhoun is 41-24 (63.1%).

Fresno State HC Pat Hill is 112-80 (58.3%).

But if you want to look at their records over the exact same time period, Pat Hill is 36-29 (55.4%).

Air Force did it playing in the much tougher MWC, not in the watered down WAC.

That is a relevant fact.

You repeatedly saying "Fresno State has more upside" isn't a fact. It's an opinion. One not backed up by facts.

AF is the clear choice to match up with Navy. And is much better sell TV wise than Fresno. When BE was looking they looked to AF, Boise, Byu, and SD state before them for a reason. That has not changed.

Ding!

Big East just goes down a list...(hence how Temple & Memphis ended up with invites).

Air Force was always at/near the top of their list in the West...but as many have noted in the past (especially those with ties to the Air Force), the Commandant there was one of the few at the AFA that was hesitant about the move (most in Athletics were FOR the move) and that was BEFORE Navy accepted their Big East invite.

Air Force might actually help Fresno get an invite if 2 teams from the West are needed but its clear to most (those at the TV Networks and Big East HQ that are calling the shot to build up the best membership to draw the highest TV $$$$) thought that Air Force was clearly superior for their conf than Fresno.

That doesn't mean Fresno wouldn't be successful if they too were invited so no clue why so get so upset that the Big East went after Air Force first...and now with Navy on board, AFA is still their priority out west.

AFA has not only been on the BE radar well before some of the schools already in got invited, they were on the B-12 radar early on as well. The only reason they are not in the BE already is that they took themselves out of consideration.

They are a very attractive candidate, and that is no doubt being driven by TV.

Pat Hill isn't even at Fresno anymore.

So when i say thet Fresno has more upside thats an opinion but when you say AF will bring in more money and has a bigger national following that isn't an opinion? Gotcha. 03-banghead

Oh and you really wanna call the WAC watered down in that time period? Boise St? Hawaii? Nevada?

Uh Boise beat TCU in a BCS bowl. Thats not really watered down and like I showed earlier fresno played (and won) twice as many games against BCS schools in OOC play.

It's becoming obvious that arguing with him is a waste of time. St. John's fans have no business talking about football, a subject which they know nothing about.

Says the Memphis fan? Really? Are you even in the Big East yet? Oh yeah, you're not!

Also if you choose your school based on sports than you're an idiot.

All that matters is brand, geography and willingness to come in as a FB only. Being in a large city helps but only so much as if the anyone cares...we all know that Big City College FB teams usually get overlooked by the local sports fan by the NFL...unless they become a consistent winner.

My pecking order for a western team: BYU>USAFA>Fresno>insert any other random WAC/MWC team here

My Pecking order for an eastern team: ECU>USM>MTSU>Toledo

Memphis has an invite as a full member. We'll play football. You won't. It has nothing to do with choosing a school. It has to do with you having no business talking about football, a sport in which your chosen school does not compete. Your school will not appear in the standings at all.

He claims also to root for Rutgers...so he is a FB guy too. Maybe a bit tenuous but I give him the benefit of the doubt.

Oh please, you were not invited because of your FB. I also see we have our new Big East board troll. Good for you! [Image: successful_troll_is_successful_RE_School...181204.jpg]

Furthermore, their national name and the fact that they travel well to bowls (I remember them bringing good crowds to the Liberty Bowl), will sweeten the Big East's bowl deals. Also better for academic image and the political reason already mentioned.
