Whats up w/ these bomb threats the past 2 weeks? Something like 3 or 4 written on a bathroom wall. Just insane.

I know, right. I can't remember so many bomb threats since the time immediately following Columbine.

I told a friend yesterday that I just hope nobody blows up Hemmingway's.

They have identified a "person of interest"

Yea, I heard about that on my way home from work.

and another now at the Chevron building this morning.

5 threats in the past 24 hours. At what point does everyone just say f*ck it and ignore the threats.

It's impossible. My girlfriend still attends a program at Pitt and has class once a week in the cathedral. This is the first time her class has been interrupted by a bomb threat but her class was cancelled today as the building had to be evacuated.

Thats how the authorities and university have to play it. For one, they don't want it on their conscience that something actually did happen on their watch. Secondly, could you imagine the lawsuits if they ignored a threat and the action came to fruition? Wow. You're talking serious dough and an easy case.

Yea, the authorities and the university has to play it safe. But I'm not sure if the students will take the threats seriously. I'm sure they'd go through the motions when buildings are evacuated in the future. They'll just be a little half ass about it.

4 more today. count is up to like 23 bomb threats... Hopefully this is just a prankser and not someone w/ real intentions and hoping kids stop taking this serious.

2 more bomb threats just now received at the Litchfield Towers. Not only are these people hurting kids education but they're effecting their private lives after class. Pathetic...

This is still going on? Damn. It's crazy they haven't found the perpetrator(s) yet. Hopefully people continue to take this seriously. It would suck to see many hurt because they figured nothing would happen.

Unsure how true this is, but there are rumors out there that the campus may shut down after Easter until the perk is caught.

That's not a bad idea. The only problem is this assumes they will be more likely to catch the person while the campus is shut down. No school means no reason for bomb threats (at least arguably).

Either way, I hope they get this straightened out prior to graduation.

The worst of it is that the person is probably some jack@ss who thinks it is funny.

I agree man. That's what pisses me off the most. This idiot is laughing his ass off while kids are losing class time, and time to study and even sleep time. I think the earliest bomb threat came in at like 4AM.
