On the other hand, adding GMU would elevate a GMU-GW rivalry in the DC area, which is what the A10 and GW need for more relevance there. In a smaller market, VCU and Richmond would have the same issue.

The A10 didn't seem to have a problem with two Philadelphia teams.

3 Philly teams. but who's counting? I don't think Temple ever had a problem with Joes and LAS in the same conf as them. It was a good thing, it made Philly an a10 town. The a10 got more coverage in Philly than the Big East. That will probably change now though.

NJIT...j/k but hopefully this shuffling enables them to find a home. But I'd like to see UWM to the A10.

If GMU & VCU leave then ODU & JMU need to bounce as well. Get off the sinking ship before its too late.

The problem that ODU and JMU would have is the A10 might not even consider them with their FBS ambitions.

NJIT does probably benefit with all the shifts and end up in Americaa East.

I know neither odu or jmu would be invited because of football. I mean jumping on a MAC invite or even a Sunbelt one and hope for an Alliance invite down the road.

You said and i quote "The A10 didn't seem to have a problem with two Philadelphia teams."

"didn't" is past tense so your statement will always be wrong.

You've just been a$$holed... anymore petty things you want me to point out... cause i will... all day every day... BOOM

DU's president said "The A10 conference itself is on the verge of a major improvement with the addition of new high quality university programs. All of this amounts to an exciting professional opportunity for a new coach."

quality programs obviously excludes Seton Hall, DePaul, Providence, and St Johns

What do you think would present a better situation for ODU? Sunbelt with GST, or MAC with JMU?

Both have pros and cons, I think the ideal situation would be the Sunbelt with JMU. That way we have a travel partner and rival as well as a southern oriented conference.

Let's not forget that Charlotte may be leaving the A10. Are there any bball schools south of the Carolinas that may be a good fit? Any in Georgia or Florida?

I can live with ODU if UNCC came as well. Then Sun Belt basketball would have ODU, UNCC, WKU, and Middle Tenn as regulars and most teams would have nice facilities for the sport.

I'm not sure that it would make any sense for the A10 to look at expanding back into the Carolinas or points south.

Adding Butler and moving toward boxing the Missouri Valley out of the Midwest in recruiting is more sensible, IMO.

Providence has a couple 5*'s coming in next season I think they'll have at least a few years of turn around to playing well

I'd agree Butler is first but I'm not sure the A-10 will be able to pry the Virginia schools apart, but I hope we can. If GMU/VCU and ODU/JMU are really going in different directions basketball vs. football may we can get them.
