RE: Craft was the mvp
I was talking to some buddies after game about Yancy after he got the 'and 1.'

Where was he? Lance McAlister pointed it out in a tweet about the same thing. I went back and looked at the final 11 minutes and Yancy's effort was absolutely embarrassing. For a guy who went through so much and embarrassed the university with his actions against X, he sure looked like he couldn't wait for that game to end.

Maybe some of you are proud the way Yancy played the final minutes of the game, but if you are, then I feel sorry for your standards and demands of a basketball player.

WOW! Complete opposite side of the spectrum here.

In terms of Craft, if I was Cronin I would have sent Guyn, Davis, hell... even Epp into the game to slap and paw non stop at Craft and when they called a foul I would have drawn a Tech that made Huggins blush. Honestly I don't get what's so special about a guy stealing the ball when he's allowed to slap and foul the ball handler. I could steal the ball from Cash too if I was allowed to foul him.

Sullinger killed UC on the boards and on the post with his turn-around jumpers. Thomas scored at will.

Craft was just OK, IMO. He didn't need to be special.

I think most rational UC fans agree Delhi. I will miss Yancy and he is a tough piece to replace. On the other hand I am happy I won't have to yell about Dion taking piss poor shots anymore. It will not be much of a challenge to replace and upgrade at his position. If he had stuck to driving and taking midrange shots I would be sad to see him go. Instead he kept thinking he was a long range threat which was the worst part of his game. We are in a good place when it comes to the 1 through 3. Post play starting next year is where all our questions are.

I don't think anyone will miss the lazy Yancy, obviously everyone will miss the motivated Yancy, last night was one of those nights where he didn't seem to give everything he could. I won't miss him simply because of the frustration he caused throughout his time at UC. Some are ignoring his apathy for about 75% of his career at UC.

And I agree, Dixon is easily replaced next year.

Gates was non existent last night, continuously beat down the floor, displayed no effort for rebounds and shied away from contact with Sullinger. It kind of symbolizes his career, for every 2 or 3 good games he plays...he lays an egg like he did last night. With that being said the will be very hard to replace next year and it will take a center by committee with Gaines, Mbodj, Obekpa? to rebound.

Good grief, give it a rest already with the Gates bashing. Sure he has some flaws in his game, but we wouldn't even have been playing tO$U in the sweet 16 if it hadn't been for him.

That's the point, for every 2 or 3 excellent games Yancy has played there is always the one egg, I think his averages after scoring 20 points was something like 6 or 7 ppg over his career. Hopefully he can develop consistency at the next level, it will be hard to replace him when he is "on".

yancy is yancy. if going by stats, you'd be hard pressed to find a more consistent player. with yancy, you know what you get. 11 and 6 just don't happen over night.

I will miss Yancy for sure. I will not miss Dixon. Now there is a guy with low basketball IQ. Certainly will remember some of his hot streaks and highlight reel dunks. But will not miss the poor decisions etc. felt the same way about Bishop.

But Yancy turned into a man and a great player this year. Maybe he wasn't so hot last night, but going against a hot Sullinger will do that to you.

Btw-Eastside you'd have been proud. Bought nosebleed and sat 7 rows behind UC bench.
