How Mark Gottfried turned NC State around (LINK)
http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2012/03...state.html

Quote:A year ago, people didn’t know where the program was headed, who the coach was going to be, which players would be back. In less than 12 months, Gottfried not only has taken N.C. State back to the NCAA tournament for the first time in six years, but beat two higher-seeded teams to advance to a regional that also includes North Carolina.

“Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect,” N.C. State forward Richard Howell said. “But I am grateful for the situation, that coach Gottfried came in. I feel like it’s a blessing. The amount of confidence he has in us is unbelievable. I feel like that’s why we’re so good.”

He has done a great job. I think just making the NCAAT was more than most of us expected. Going to the round of 16 is just an unbelievable accomplishment for coach and players. When he told his players before the GT game that, "you are good enough", that shows the deference in this year and this coach and the previous two coaches and the last fifteen years. State has the coach that will take the pack to top of the conference. No more settling for being competitive. In the further we need to be the team Duke, Carolina, and Syracuse talk about having to get through to win the conference. If it happens it is Gottfried that will do it.
