Louisville will eventually end up in the Big 12. It might not happen for the 2013 or 2014 season, but I'd say no later than the next open bid media contract negotiations.

Just thinkin.........Probably wouldn't hurt its' chances of joining WVU in the Big 12, if Louisville won the National Championship in basketball this year.
I'd love to win a NC in basketball this year, but it's a hard road ahead of us and I'm not sold on my own team being capable of managing it to be honest. If we won, even I would be surprised at this point. I stopped watching basketball this year...apparently I'm jinxed. I watch, we lose...so I won't watch and instead hope for the best.

Wow, two teams in one conference that boast the color purple. Too bad that one of them isn't the team I root for.

much rather have Cincinnati than Louisville in the Big 12

Yes, because of their far superior athletic budget, facilities and more stellar record is astonishing when compared to Louisville's overall....oh wait...nevermind. Cincinnati's had a good run and that's about it. Their budget is abysmal, their facities are grossly out dated and they don't really care to spend the money to renovate, and people would rather watch the Bengals than the Bearcats in their own backyard. I love Cincy personally, I hope they come in and play along too, but let's be realistic....there'll never be a world in which the Bearcats get the nod over Louisville when it comes to conference shuffling. They bring a lot, but not nearly as much.
UC does need to add capacity to their stadium, 3rd. But since Nippert is pretty landlocked, it would be hard to do without demolishing it altogether and rebuilding to suit the available space...

They can build straight up like UTexas. I'd swear it feels like you need a 5 point harness to keep from pitching forward onto the field......

*******, just about everyone that's in a position to know anything; mainstream media and otherwise, are all saying it's going to happen. Why is it the morons from West Virginia are the only ones at this point with their heads in the sand?
And in any event, it's irrelevant in a conversation as to who's better for expansion between Cincy and UofL.
It's dumb **** like that comment that has lead to Cards fans packing up and leaving this dump of a board for the most part. Keep talking **** though, you've not run EVERYONE off of here yet...

It might happen but its not going to be anytime soon and maybe not at all. The Big 12 is going to exhaust all other options before inviting you or BYU now that we have our money. You guys just don't bring enough to the table TV wise or you would have been invited over us. Simple as that.
Uh huh, think what you want. Our athletic budget dwarfs yours. Our BASKETBALL team brings in more money than all of the BigXII's FOOTBALL teams bring in...and that was BEFORE teams left. We're in a Top 50 TV market. Some of the most watched games on ESPN in the past have featured Louisville. We bring more to the table than you realize, chump. And we won't get left out. We'll gladly beat your asses in basketball and football again, and we'll get our chance by 2014 at the very latest. Maybe, likely, as soon as next year.

2014? That has to be a joke. You may get your chance, but it ain't happening for a loooogggg time buddy... Get used to seeing Houston on the schedule for at least a pretty good while. Texas is happy, everybody's got their money, and that conference isn't rushing to add anyone short of Florida St and Clemson declaring that they want to leave the ACC. Might want to focus on trying to actually dominate the conference you're in first.

If UL was a lock to the BIG 12 they would already have been invited. UL is probably on the list, but the league is obviously looking at other options including not expanding at all before UL--superior athletic budget or not--besides, UL won't have a stadium expansion or new arena every year either.

Pretty much agree with you....except... based on what I have heard and read leads me to believe that if the Big12 does not add the big guys i.e. Clemson, Florida State etc. they will remain at 10 teams.
