Post-season bball hypothetical
I was wondering, lets say tonight NIU was playing Northwestern or Illinios State at home in an NIT game. What would be the attendance. Would the overall lack of interest translate to our usual 700-1000 fans or would the first smell of non-conf post season basketball in about 16 years cause a huge turnout? Would we pack 4000 in the Convo for that game? I can understand not much enthusiasm at NU for their Akron game tonight since they were a bubble team, but just wondering what the response would be at NIU, who has not seen NIT or NCAA in over a decade and a half.

To have made it to the NIT would have meant that we had a year like Akron which would be a superb for NIU.

If that were to be the case I do not see why the game would have a problem reaching 3k in attendance even for a weeknight game and many more if it were an opponent like ISU or NU.

I know I would show up with the fam.

What HuskieJohn said but perhaps even better. I cannot wait to watch NIU home basketball games in two years. The Convo will be rocking. I will drive up from Central Ohio so I can see a home game or two. Monty has this thing pointed in the right direction and a ticket to a post season home game could be tough to come by.

Any day of the week, my group and I will be at the Convo to watch NIU play in any post-season tournament game(s). If we ever host a MAC playoff game, I will be there. Even if it's when I get my monthly prostate massage, I'll forgo that to be at the Convo! Just the kind of guy I am.
