Well, I'd imagine most places (especially residential areas) in Mississippi are de facto segregated (it happens in the North too), so that if you walk down any street it will either be mostly black or white. I think it's very possible she just walked around the area where her plane landed and it happened to be a white area.

A few examples is not "most places" (or "all these"). And there had to be some women involved somewhere. You do understand how procreation works, right? If you believe this "survey" was at all scientific, then I guess that goes a long way towards understanding why you put so much belief in the BLS system. I guess this was an appropriate sample size for you, with very little margin of error when it comes to drawing conclusions about a state of around 3 million people?

You're doing the exact same thing you accuse others of doing - using anecdotal evidence to make broad generalizations. Not to mention, you're stereotyping while you simultaneously condemn others for being racist, which is just another form of stereotyping. Hypocrite much? It isn't surprising though, since you continually obsess about Fox News viewers while exhibiting the same narrow-mindedness many of them are guilty of.

Have you ever been to the southern states? Even the most discriminate people live around each other. According to my dad, even during segregation people lived around each other, especially the working class.

I don't think it's a scientific survey. I think it's a random sampling of a few people she ran into. Maybe they edited out a few blacks and women to make it look more PC. Or, like I said, maybe the women don't get out as much and it happened to be a mostly white area. Or maybe all 5 were white males because there it just so happens there are more white males than any other group.

Far as southern states go, I've been to Sarasota (just last week), Hilton Head, Raleigh Durham and Gulf Shores (and I might get to go to Augusta for the Masters if one of my parents can't go, and see Rebel!). Not representative, probably. I don't know what average neighborhoods are like in Mississippi but even in the North (definitely here in Peoria) there is what we call "white flight"--ie, white people who can do so move when minorities join their neighborhood or a Section 8 complex gets built nearby. And with racism much more open down there I'd be very surprised if they're living happily side by side, but I could be wrong.

Lots of conjecture there. I've heard multiple people who lived in both the North (Chicago/Pittsburgh) and South say that racism and segregation are much worse in the North, so it must be universally true.

The north is definitely more openly racist than the south, IMO. Ever been to an Italian neighborhood up north, how about Polish, Chinese, etc. Everybody talks in slurs about every one else.

Down here those divisions aren't evident except for where the poor live.

I just find that hard to believe. I've honestly never seen anyone wearing a white supremacist slogan on his jacket here in Illinois like the Mississippi guy in that video. There is racism but it's not open at all. It might be true in ethnic neighborhoods in Chicago or NYC but that's a very very small fraction of the north.
