Brilliant scheduling...glad some get a European Vacation!
Yep, our first 7 losses of the season were all against teams in the NCAA tourney: South Dakota St., Temple, Iona, Colorado, Purdue, Gonzaga and Detroit. Throw in a trip to Duke a little later and that sure sounds like a recipe for success. Sure hope we learn from this mistake. Take a look at Ohio's schedule. Almost all winnable contests with a couple challenges. Just like it should be. Ours was just plain stupid! Glad those that are sticking around will get a European vacation for all the troubles. We, as fans, get nothing but frustration.

Who's frustrated.

From what I can tell everyone is happy as long as we don't blame the coaches or the players.

I hope someday you learn that sarcasm and bullying aren't effective ways to communicate. In the meantime, it would serve you well not to make assumptions and generalizations about everyone in this forum.

It's a message board (although a Mickey Mouse one), not the office workplace.

As far as assumptions and generalizations, they're flying in every direction here. It's a f$%king message board. Have you ever been to Spartan Tailgate where 5000 people are slinging mud in every direction?

RE: Brilliant scheduling...glad some get a European Vacation!
The lead guy for the selection committee made it crystal clear the primary point of distinction that if most things were equal was an at large teams strength of out of conference schedule.

Iona in and Drexal out.
There was another BCS example too.

If Hawk does his job in preparing the team to win coming out of the shoot instead of "learning as we go along" I see wins at SDSU, one in PR.

Add in his intransient fixation on zone and you should chalk up two EMU wins.

Calculate that he has game ready close out plays he can have the kids execute in transition I see wins at Ohio and Buffalo. Instead he calls time outs and frenetically draws up plays in the sand. Kids have no clue what he's doing and the opposing coach "gathers his kids" and puts on a stop.

Figure in that Ward is on one wheel, he doesnt reduce what HH2 needs to know what to run, so he grinds Demetrius knee further into sawdust and a kid who can shoot lights out and defend on two feet and you may walk away with a W in Toledo.

Add all these and an entirely different mindset is possible.

In watching the tournament I was very impressed with Ohio and Akron. Not sure if we had the horses if healthy. But, I am sure they wouldn't have had to play every game if they take the games I listed above.

But good luck to the kittens and zips.

So we're good as soon as science perfects brain transplants or some kind of instant memory transfer like in the Matrix.

That's useful to know.

As if it's ok to sling mud if everyone else is doing it. It's not ok, it's childish and ignorant. There are much more effective ways to communicate in today's world. You attack players and coaches by using sarcasm on this board. The people you've gotten into pissing matches with attack you because of what you've written. Not necessarily because they disagree with you, but rather how you go about making your point.

And if this were MSU's board, you would be getting hate messages rather than semi polite responses.

Don't forget to add this........03-melodramatic

Yes, we're going to be the mature message board, where all 14 members say only what should be said, don't judge any of our sports teams, and where sugar plum fairies hand out marshmallow treats. :patrick:

Quote:The people you've gotten into pissing matches with attack you because of what you've written.
Almost true. One however is pissed because myself and another poster exposed him for the phony that he is.

Finally, I wouldn't write it if I didn't buy into it. If others disagree, so what. Do I care. Hell no. We're not in a meeting at the office where we're trying to compromise on an issue. It's a message board. Let the opinions fly. If we all agree on something does it make an ounce of difference. Will WMU's staff say to themselves, "Oh look, we need to do what those 14 guys on Broncostampede want."

You clearly don't care what people think of you, or your opinions, on this board. If you did, you would be more careful on how you present your content.

Did anyone say we can't be critical of our players or coaches? I'm pretty sure those are all in play. Example: The problem arises when you associate poverty with level of play. You ignore the fact that poverty is associated with a certain demographic and race, therefore making your content extremely offensive to fellow posters. You defended it by saying it wasn't about race, but rather upbringing. Really? As if that makes it all ok and justifiable. Do you enjoy getting everyone worked up over a theory that has zero merit?

I don't know about anyone else and I don't want to speak for them, but I like to think we can communicate on this board in a civil manner. You choose the opposite and use this board as a venting tool and go to the extreme. For the life of me, I don't know why you want to make it so hard for people to like you. You clearly have knowledge of the game and have input to offer. It goes beyond people just disagreeing with your opinions. Again, it's how you present them with your middle finger in the air that is polarizing.

My content is fine. How some people chose to interpret it is their issue.

We've gone from "Jim Crow Southern politics" being our definition of "racism," to questioning the President's policies being our new definition of racism. If you want to play that game, fine, I'm not participating in the latest PC pap being generated on the left. Free speech has become a joke. Bill Mahr calls Sarah Palin a c$nt and we get crickets. Limbaugh calls Sandra Fluke a slut, and we have a feeding frenzy. Clearly, it has nothing to do with women, and everything to do with politics otherwise the same moral outrage would have been heard when he called Palin a c%nt.

The problem is... you leave your content open to be interpreted by others. If you thought about how people might react to what you are writing, you might choose a different path. But hey, if you really don't care what people think of you, then it is what it is.

I'm just saying that you enable the response. Politics are completely different. You guys can argue till you are blue in the face on this board. I'll choose to add a comment or two, but you won't find me debating any of the issues. On the other hand, WMU athletics deserve better than the ugly picture you paint.

My content is crystal clear. How people interpret it is their issue. If you think poverty= race and race= poverty, then I can't help you. For some critical thinking skills are thrown aside for a heard mentality. So be it.

You don't understand that others possess different critical thinking skills. Not everyone thinks the way you do. The Dip's way is not the only way.

Again, you know full well that some people associate poverty with race. You can't blame others for making that connection.

You got that right. But you seem to be the only one holding a lightning rod. Maybe its time you ask yourself "why", and maybe change your presentation. I'm down with listening to your opinion and engaging you in healthy discussions. I'm not down with the constant beating of one subject into the ground and listening to you defend your insensitivity. We are a small board, and because of that, we need to play nice with others. When I accidentally offend someone, I apologize. When you accidentally offend someone, you dig a hole.

What don't you grasp about "I don't care?" It's a message board, I'm not running for office, hell I'm not even trying to garner "reputation points." It's a message board, they're opinions. It's like changing channels on the TV, you don't have to watch the porn if you don't want to.

And don't tell me people have no choice. I start a lot of these threads, and 200 responses later people are complaining about the the thread. Really, then why are you on it 25 times, especially if I started it. Message boards are a place to vent, give an opinion, blow off steam or agree completely. It's not the real world where we cloak ourselves in conformaty in order to get along and not rock the boat.
