Are you kidding me? Dixon was our 2nd leading scorer this season and always guarded the other team's leading scorer/offensive player. Dixon is also our back-up point guard because no one else can handle the ball. Dixon was an under-recruited player coming out of high school and will wind up among the top 40 scorers in UC history. Hope your boss doesn't grade you like you do Dion Dixon.

I don't get all the hate on Dixon.

I get that he hurts the Cats with his poor shot selection but he gives 100% effort and he has single handily won games for the Cats this year.

I've never questioned his effort, heart, or athleticism. I question his b-ball IQ at times. He takes bad shots at bad times. That's my biggest gripe.

Yea. I really like Dixon. But he really does take bad shots and hot dogs it too much. Cronin did absolutely the right thing yesterday by sitting him at crunch time. He simply would not pass the ball and everything was one on "whatever". I'm sure the message as received and expect him to do well in the Tourney.
This is a team game Dion. This is what got you there. Don't forget that.

I wouldn't have as big an issue with Dion if he could just start hitting some key FT's....as for his game, you take the good with the bad....he hurts us and helps us in the same game often. But, the FT shooting is KILLING us

I've thought his ballhandling/passing all year has been pathetic, and was more glaring against Louisville. His 3 pt average is .268, lowest of regulars.

Dion really shouldn't be shooting a three unless:

1. we are up 20pts plus
2. shot clock is at one second, he happans to have the ball and be in 3pt range

I've been very critical of Dion. On the whole, we are better off with him this year, but his decision making on fast breaks and from the three point line makes me throw things and yell at the TV like a redneck. I can respect a player with lack of IQ well before a player with a lack of guts, and he plays his heart out. I'll be sad to see him go, but think we will replace his production without his mistakes.

He needs to stick to dribble penetration pull up jumpers from about 6 to 12 feet. That is his game. And he is strong enough to take a foul and go to the line, if he'd simply start making them.

My only problem with Dion - and its a big one - is when he starts pounding the ball up top you can see he is making up his mind to be a scoring PG - which he aint'. Drives or shoots no matter what often early in the possession. Usually turns into an empty possession. Happened again repeatedly last night.

Completely disagree. Go back and watch some games. I have never seen a senior less willing to hit the floor for a loose ball. He does nothing with purpose. Everything he does he tries to do with as much swagger as humanly possible.

I know he seems to be the only viable option as backup pg, but his ball handling and passing is atrocious most of the time.

That being said, he is capable of some big scoring games and some great defense, here's hoping we get some of that this weekend.

... UC fans placing too much value in effort...
Justin Jackson puts in a ton of effort, he also kills us, with his lack of production. How many anti-Jackson threads are there? Further, Dixon plays out of position. His normal role in on the wing. I thought he'd do better, because he'd no longer be the defacto, back up PG. If anyone is to blame, for his productivity not being greater, it's the freshmen, who haven't been able to back up Cash.
Besides that, without his improved scoring, there's no way we'd be within a couple free throws.

Besides that, Kilpatrick was awful last night and so was Parker at the line, 1-7 at one point.
Do we see anti-either of those guy sentiments here? No. Because Cincinnati fans, always value effort, over production. It's stupid. If we had a whole team of Justin Jackson, we'd be in last place, if we had a whole team of skill players, who were consistent and the only one we have now is Yancy, we'd be great; and yall would still complain.
"Waaaahhh they're not diving and have a bad attitude, waaaahh they're not the bearcat way..."
Two days ago, your lips were firmly planted on their asses. It's sad, is what it is.(and redundant on my part, I know)
They were fatigued, physically and mentally, I think they'll do well in the NCAA's but we'll see.
