OT - CCHA Quarterfinal thread
- Western Michigan completes the sweep of Lake Superior tonight 5 - 2.
- Miami completes the sweep of Michigan State 4 - 1 tonight.

After beating top seed Ferris St. last night, BG couldn't keep up as a third period barrage from Ferris led to a 7 - 4 win. It sends them to a game three tomorrow.

Since the CCHA reseeds after each round, it will not be determined who plays whom until after game 3 at Ferris.

If BG wins tomorrow, they would play new #1 seed Michigan while
new #2 seed WMU would play #3 seed Miami.

If BG loses, it is Western vs Michigan and Ferris vs Miami next weekend in Detroit.

Hate to say this, but I'm hoping that BG doesn't win, as I'd rather WMU face Michigan in the semi-finals instead of Miami. It looks like we probably still need at least one win in Detroit to get into the NCAA. This is the exact same scenario as last year for us. We needed a win and smoked Michigan. Two years in a row would be especially sweet.

That'd be sweet of 3/4 of the CCHA final four were "MAC" teams.

Miami is getting hot at the right time this year after a somewhat lackluster regular season! Always fun to beat B10 schools, even if it's CCHA hockey!

04-cheers

It would absolutely amazing and a great statement for the "MAC" teams.
Add that to Akron's dominance of Men's Soccer and it brings the MAC out of the "mid major" catagory.

Love beating those traditonal B10 teams (and ND) in CCHA hockey..it's a shame that the B10 is messing everything up by breaking away and forming their own conference.

So Michigan faces 3 MAC teams in a hockey cage match and also Ohio in basketball.
