One hour to game time: What are the keys to beating Cards
What do people think the keys are to getting the W and Big East Championship?? Still can't believe it as a type those three words. Here's my 3-4 major points.

On the simpler side of things, we obviously need to bring the D. Its our calling card and keeps us in games when the O isn't working well. Don't give them open looks from 3. And bring the defensive energy that gets us turnovers and easier baskets. Siva has a tendency to lose control and can be turned over.

On O, work the ball and don't settle for one pass or no pass shot possessions. We are so much better when we work the ball on O, look to drive and don't get enamored with perimeter passes and the three ball.

Third, take care of the ball. UofL will up the defensive tempo, and try to turn us over. Gotta take care of the ball but also make them pay if they press like Cuse did late.

Lastly, keep their level heads. Don't treat this game any different from the last two. Don't get too caught up in the drama of it all. Not too worried about this since our guys tend to be level-headed and never get too up or too down. But just don't want to see them do anything different from what got them here.

Keepin UofL from making 3s. They couldn't hit water from a boat at Fifth Third. Highly unlikely they repeat that performance.

We have got to close out on Kuric. Last game we gave him too many open looks. Fortunately for us he had a horrible shooting night. Chances are slim that he has another night like that against us.

Attack the pressure and play an active zone defense. Per ESPN, UL is shooting 38.4% vs zone defense this season (13th in the BE).

1. Mix zone and man to keep Siva on his toes, play the 2-3 to prevent Siva from getting easy lay ups and dump offs and the man to match up better with shooters.

2. Force Russ Smith to take those wild shots and do not allow the attempts for the shooters (Chris Smith and Kuric)

3. Attack Dieng, without him UL isn't nearly as good.

4. Hit open shots, but attack the rim as much as possible

5. Most importantly, handle the pressure...but attack it to score not to just get past half court. BE STRONG WITH THE BALL.

I agree that definitely guarding their perimeter shooters is key. We did give them a TON of open looks that they just clanged at the Shoe. We can't let them go off like they sometimes do.

Minimize Siva's impact. Keep Behanan to roughly the same productivity he had in game 1. Don't rely so much on the three.

An extra day of rest would have helped.
