The rest of the Sun Belt has gone 0-20.
Good grief.

Man, I was at that game in Memphis. South Alabama had them beat. You had guys we at stAte called snoop dog and surfer boy - that choke job was a huge disappointment.

Bibby and Simon were good though . . .

I haven't seen the game but I've heard that we had the game won but ended up losing instead. 03-banghead

I remember watching the game on the tube. I don't think we were ever up, at least late in the game, but it was a close game (couple possessions) with just a few minutes left. I think we ended up losing by 8 or so. And yeah, Bibby was very, very good.

I remember being up by as much as 10 at one point in that game. Musselman would have made a run with that team if he had gotten past Arizona.

I'm pretty sure there was a 10 point lead with 6 or 8 minutes remaining. I really thought it was going to happen.

I found this on the furious rally.

"Alderson gave South Alabama a seemingly safe 53-43 lead with 7:34 to play"

Oh wow, totally forgot that then. Dang. We scored 4 points over the last 7:34. Ouch.

I watched that game and was heart broken teenager. I remember the the Bama win in 89, but was not old enough to appreciate the scope of the victory. Although Musselman was at South for only a short time he was one of the greatest coaches we have ever had. That 97' team ranks as one of the best at USA IMO.
