Arch Madness
Arch Madness begins this evening with the play-in games and Shocker fans will be watching the 8/9 game with interest. I don't think either SIU or ISUb represent much of an issue for Wichita as neither has much fire power. But we're excited to see this thing get on its way as many feel this is the year for Wichita to win it all.

Hopefully the Shox keep taking care of business and leaving no doubt. I believe during conference play their average margin was a +14. I don't care who you are, that's impressive.

Hopefully the team recovers from the bug that's going around Wichita. Ragland has had major sinus issues the last week. Garrett hasn't been able to keep food down for a couple days and is being pumped full of IVs. Word is 3G and Kyles have both been fighting something. Anacreon is still dealing with the groin injury and Garrett is still working on the ankle issue from the Drake game. Not to mention his back that has been bothering for about half the season. Carl Hall has also been fighting something as well.

Even a little down, they should be able to take care of business on Friday.

RE: Arch Madness
Shox looked great yesterday as the cruised to a 20+ point victory in a game that was over as soon as the last note of the national anthem was finished. 72-48 domination.

Shox will take on ISU this afternoon in a game that I'd guess will be around 15.

RE: Arch Madness
This year version minus the Shocks began last night.

Preseason #2 UNI defeated Evansville (60-50) and will now face the Valley #1 seed Loyola.

Preseason #1 MSU defeated the newest member Valpo (83-79) and will face #2 Seed SIU in the battle of the Ex-MSU Coach vs the probable newest Ex-MSU Coach.
How does Lusk keep his job after taking that team and Preseason #1 and turning them into a Thursday night team?

#4 Drake makes it out of Drake Night and will face #5 Bradley.

#3 Red takes on #6 Blue in the final game in the Friday Night Fight of the ISUs.

#1 Loyola struggled against #9 UNI today, but eventually pulled out the win 54-50. Mitch Holthaus said during the game that a #9 seed had never beaten a #1 seed in Arch Madness.

Drake and Bradley were in a back and forth battle. Bradley won on a last second tip in and will face Loyola.

70 years of history is hard to erase. I think most Shocker fans will continue to follow the old league for a few years all while thanking our lucky stars that we got out when we did.

Cant argue with that, i still follow the big east a little. I even checkout the a10 (was known as the Yankee conference (UConn's MVC in a way) every once in a while. 04-cheers

I will say that I'm glad to see Bradley making progress. I've always respected that fan base and what they could do with proper leadership. And most of the Loyola fans I've crossed paths with have been good people. I'm surprised Moser found a way to win the conference though.

I did see where Lusk was finally fired at MSU. The guy recruited fairly well but his teams all disappointed.

I know we love to hate the Bears, but I do think there's potential there if the school ever pulls its head out of its ass and gets proper leadership.

I agree with you on that. I think Bradley probably has the most potential of any current MVC school, I could see them becoming the next to dominate the league.

Would like to have seen MSU win it. I've seen a TON of games at John Q from the luxury suites. Fun times.

Uh, the only Yankee Conference members to play in A10 are UMass, URI, and Richmond. UConn never played in A10 unless you count the A10 football league I guess.

Yankee is also split with America East (Maine, UNH, UVM), Patriot (BU, Holy Cross), and CAA (Delaware, Northeastern, JMU, William & Mary). Villanova is in Big East and obviously y'all are in the American.

The Yankee that Connecticut played basketball in with Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont probably looks more like America East of all of those.

RE: Arch Madness
I saw a score that had them and SIU in a battle today. Didn't pay enough attention to see the final score or look it up. I'm OK with Loyola winning tomorrow against whoever and being the lone representative. I haven't watched them play much this year, but they might be able to pull off a win in the opening round if they get the right matchup.
