Wow, that's a stupid stunt. I hope they do not waste the resources of the state and give her jail time. Hopefully, she will only get a small fine or perhaps have to do volunteer work.
I'm sure she regrets doing this. I remember doing a lot of stupid things when I was a student (although stealing was never one of them) so hopefully this will not go on her record.
