Sun Belt tournament favorite
I think most of us agree that MTSU is the favorite to win the tournament (actually both men's and women's, but I'm talking about the men). However, they are obviously not invincible since they lost 2 games in the past 3 weeks. I saw some "expert" on the internet pick Denver to win it. They did beat MTSU by 15 at Denver. If we make it to the final, I'd be quite happy to see Denver there instead of MTSU.

Isn't that impossible? You'd play them in the semis.

I don't want Denver to win it for the simple fact that they are going to the WAC (if there is one for them to go to).

Kick them out with thier tail between thier legs as far as I'm concerned.

If the tournament was being played in Denver, I might agree. Not in Hot Springs. They're a high altitude, not a sea level team.

No way we can meet Denver in the finals since we are the #2 seed and they are the #3 seed. We'd have to meet in the Semis.

RE: Sun Belt tournament favorite
Here are the odds I give all the teams of winning the title. Basically, I feel that the Blue Raiders are the prohibitive favorite, then you have four teams with a punchers chance, another two dangerous floaters, and then four that'd need a miracle.

Of course last year I had UALR at something like a 6% chance entering the Belt Tournament so anything can happen.

Troy 1%
FIU 1%
ASU 2%
FAU 4%
WKU 7%
USA 8%
ULL 10%
NT 12%
Denver 13%
UALR 14%
MTSU 28%

MT has to be the favorite. However, with FAU, MT and ULL looming on their side, they cannot go to sleep.

I'm picking UALR on the other side of the bracket.

You guys will pack the house for the championship game, once again.

How far from Little Rock to Hot Springs ? 45 mins ?

I am worried about our first game. If I had my choice I would rather play WKU. Do not want to play FIU because I am afraid somebody might get hurt playing those guys. UALR always plays Denver tough at home. Would be nice to send them packing for the final time.
Hot Springs can be reached from anywhere in Little Rock inside of 60 minutes.

I would start Marlo. He's probably capable of handling anything tough that FIU might throw at us. Then after they get two or three guys thrown out of the game in the first ten minutes, you put in Javes and/or Will and play the rest of the game.

I'm worried about every game, both men and women. If you don't come to play, you'll get beat. MT women should have lost at Troy this year. ULM whipped the Cajuns in Lafayette.

Anything can happen.

We're not the most talented team in the league, but we might be the most tough minded at this stage of the season. If tough can beat talented we have a chance, but usually the most talented team wins. But not always. That's why they play the games.
