The weekend in MAC Hoops (2/25-2/26)
I figure some pepole on this board might be tired of the never ending conference realignment speculation and focus on actual competition.

So far UB has beat Miami 84-74 in Amherst to improve to 10-4 in the MAC to move a half game ahead of OU and KSU.

Ball State is currently up 22-20 over with 1:30 to go in Ypsi.

Kent State (9-4) heads to the Stroh Center for the first time ever to face BG (7-6) at 6.

WMU (6-7) heads to Toledo (5-8) at 7.

Tomorrow sees NIU (2-11) head to CMU 3-10 at 2.

Then the Zips (12-1) heads down to Athens to take on OU (9-4) in primetime at 8 on ESPNU.

Ohio vs. Akron should be a good one in front of a "Flagship" sized King Kong basketball crowd.

EMU beats Ball State 61-50, completing the season sweep of the Cardinals.

The Eagles can clinch a share of the MAC West if Toledo beats WMU tonight.

EMU at 8-6 is only 1.5 games back of Ohio and has the tie-breaker.

Ohio has tough games remaining with Akron, Kent, Miami. It will be a challenge to hold onto a bye.

I really thought Kent State would show more fight than they have.

Do not worry about us. Our seniors have already left.

Ours went with them. A while ago. They sure weren't in Toledo tonight.

Good post moves and a serious attitude problem-was he benched because he was screaming at his teammates for not getting him the ball? He was gone a looong time after that incident.

He got benched for yelling at his teammates? What did he say? When?

He was at the far end of the court so I couldn't hear what he said but he had posted up and didn't get the ball from the wing-basically walked over to the guy and screamed at him (don't know who, sorry). He did that last year at UT, too. Last year he was more of an equal opportunity screamer- screamed at teammates, refs, UT players, etc. 03-wink

BTW- I was ASKING if that's why he got benched. I don't know, because he wasn't yanked immediately. I do know he was doing all the scoring and when he left shortly after this he sat for a very long time. Unfortunately Number 21 came in for him and proceeded to dominate in the paint. they only gave him credit for three blocks but he had about six.

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it.

I'm asking because stainbrook was 6/7 from the field, with only 15 mins logged. And, I believe we had a rather large advantage in the paint. Trying to make sense of it.

I just posted over on the WMU board as well- it was VERY odd that he didn't come back in. Our walk-on center had no answer for Stainbrook's game- had ha remained in it would have been a very different game.

It's a big disappointment. This should have been a very good season.
