Exclamation Miami-Ohio defensive coordinator Pete Rekstis, accepts FAU job
BREAKING NEWS: Source says Rekstis accepts job to be the Owls' defensive coordinator
By Owl Access Staff Report

Miami-Ohio defensive coordinator Pete Rekstis has accepted the job to be FAU's defensive coordinator, a source told Owl Access on Wednesday night.

A Miami-Ohio player also announced Wednesday night on his Twitter account that Rekstis “took the job at Florida Atlantic this afternoon.”

Rekstis will replace Marvin Sanders, who left FAU to be the defensive backs coach at Southern Cal earlier this month.

Rekstis was the Red Hawks’ defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach last season and was the defensive coordinator and safeties coach for Kent State from 2004-2010.

Last season Miami-Ohio was ranked No.48 in the nation in total defense (363.7 yards per game) and No. 39 in the nation in scoring defense (22.9 points per game).

Before Rekstis took over at Kent State he was at Youngstown State from 1999-2003.
