Missouri State perhaps.
Football: Plaster Sports Complex with 16,600 seats
Basketball: JQH Arena with 11,000 seats (WHAT!)
Baseball: Hammons Field with 8,000 seats (also affliate home for St. Louis Cardinals AA team 'Springfield Cardinals')

Active enrollment: 20,802 students
Endowment: ~$60 million
Springfield, MO rated #75 last year courtesy of Nielsen TV rankings by homes

Natural rivalry potential with Arkansas State, both cities are ~220 miles away from each other.

If they wanted to move up I would have them very high on my wishlist.

They would be on the top of our list, but they are happy playing 1-aa football.

John Q. Hammons, of Embassy Suites fame, is their sugar daddy. Wish MT had one.

I can tell you that they have flirted with the idea on multiple occassions, but they are set to stay in the Valley.

I can also tell you that if there were willing to make the jump, we would have the red carpet rolled out to them.

Springfield is 7 hours away from Jonesboro. Not 220 miles.

Lake Norfork is about 2 hours from Jonesboro, and you can get Springfield TV on the old school antenna there.

Missouri State
Texas State
Georgia State

Those are my three and only if we have to expand. I refuse to buy into the Appy State crap just because they beat Michigan years ago.

Mo. St. Would never move to the sbc for football. They have issues getting butts in the seats for football. They are a basketball school in a great basketball conference. The mvc is also stable, so unless some of the top teams moved, they have no reason to move, imo.

Would love to have Missouri State, but if they are happy down there then not much to be done about it.

I would add UTSA to that list as well.

You are the only person outside of myopic Kennesaw State fans who believes they'll be FBS in the next ten years.

You got to have faith. :)

Remember, we were told that South Alabama would never have football team.

You got to have faith. :)

Remember, we were told that South Alabama would never have football team.

Why do I have to have faith that a school that's never been relevant in any sport is going to go from having no football to having FBS football? At least South Alabama has always been division I and has had a potential home for FBS football since 2001. Kennesaw State just moved up to Division I in 2009. There is absolutely no reason to believe they will be FBS any time soon and furthermore I don't see any reason to want them to be FBS.

Your fascination with Kennesaw State is strange to say the least. You list them among four other potential candidates, each of whom is infinitely more attractive and all of whom could be FBS ready in at most three years, whereas Kennesaw State won't even field a FCS team until 2014. If Kennesaw State receives so much as a sniff from the Sun Belt in the next ten years, then we the conference must have truly fallen on unimaginably hard times.
