Now let's do something smart and put a full-court press on Southern Illinois.

RE: Adios Temple
If we add another school, I'd be fine with SIU, assuming they come for all sports. No more of this "football only" nonsense. UMass will follow in the same footsteps as Temple as soon as they have a good season or two.

Agreed. Umass is a waste of MAC time and resources.

Add Siu and Illinois State in both sports for some long-term stability. I don't know why we continue to let East Coast mercenaries use us.

RE: Adios Temple
For 2012 EMU would presumably not play Temple and maybe play Miami or UB as a 9th conference game as those schools would have a hole in their schedules too.

I'd rather play UB than Temple if he are going for bowl eligibility this year.

I had hoped to drive up to Philly for the Temple game.

I can scratch that now.

Southern Illinois and Illinois State would NEVER leave the Missouri Valley Conference for the MAC in basketball. It would have to be football only. MO Valley: Creighton, Wichita State, Northern Iowa, Drake, Bradley, etc is a really good, top tier mid-major.

It might have been Steve Bell who compared MAC hoops: East like Big East. West like GLIAC.

P.S. GLIAC hoops isn't too bad.
