I can't wait for that home football schedule filled with SMU, UCF, Temple, and Memphis. We'll be playing for our automatic Liberty Bowl bid to play the sixth place team from the SEC.

I'm no longer concerned about expanding Nippert.

Temple and Memphis....

The focal points of that bad blood (Huggins and Chaney) are long gone.

Thought more of it was related to UC backing out of a game at Temple to schedule someone else, so they got pissed and sent us a bill for $82,000.00 and we told them to go take it and pound sand. Temple AD or president or whatever said they'd never schedule UC again. Course, we did play them in Atlantic City in 2006.

I seem to remember it started when Andy Kennedy was a Huggins assistant and it was over a fax that Kennedy sent to a potential recruit and the dead man walking got wind of the fax and took extreme exception to it.

3 of those teams will likely be in the west and we won't be playing them all at home every year. Playing Boise and Houston should be pretty fun though. Also looking forward to continued games against Louisville, Rutgers and USF.

Lville will be gone as soon as big 12 gets new commish and rutgers as soon as big10 goes next, and USF really? Football is a step child in this conference at best.

Just as 1992 till today I will be at Nippert. Besides WVU, who's program is on par with UC, losing Pitt and Cuse, they are not all that. SMU just destroyed Pitt in a bowl game.

You know people said "Cincinnati Football to the Big East, what do they bring"?
I really hope UC fans support UC and not worry about who the opponent is.

RE: Temple coming to Big East?
Fanbase is growing slowly but surely. The biggest factor in continuous growth for us at this point is not who our Big East opponents are, but that we keep Coach Jones and we remain a strong football program. CBJ's first year hurt the process, but I think things will return to growth mode. Fans want to know that they are investing in a guy who's committed to the program. At this stage we need a successful coach to give us a 10+ year run. This three and out stuff hurts the program much more than playing Houston and SMU.

haha you are telling people to relax, and you lose your mind every time the opponent scores a point against UC in basketball. I found it ironic, and hilarious

A Rutgers recruit, also being recruited by Michigan, was told by the RU coaches that they would be in the B10 in the next 2 years fwiw.

Interesting what they are telling recruits...this is recent news as well.

RE: Temple coming to Big East?
I think the plan has been all along for the really big programs to weed out the annoying schools, like UC, from their party. It's coming to fruition.

I enjoyed UC football when they were in Conference USA. I'll still enjoy it, but it looks like UC could be heading back to CUSA days - maybe not quite as much, but Big East football has taken some serious hits.

LOL yeah...during the games I get a little nuts

but again, in context, I've never claimed doom/gloom for the New Big East...I think it can be a great conference. Will we lose our seat at the Big Boy table...maybe but we can still be a good conference and make decent money per team.

Rutgers in the Big 10 makes me laugh...Hell, they can't win in the Big East in football or basketball. I'm done worrying about the conference crap. I'm a Bearcat fan and football season ticket holder, and will remain one regardless of conference. The Big East, right now, is fine...not ideal, in any sense, but not any more or less competitive than it has been since UC joined.

I agree. I can't see it happening. If the Big 10 expands, they will want to get a Notre Dame and while the NYC market would be nice, there are probably already plenty of fans from current Big 10 schools in the area and Rutgers just has not done enough or have the fan base to really make it worthwhile to slice up the pie anymore.

If NYC does not have the Big 10 network (I don't know if they do or not), adding Rutgers likely is not enough to force it to happen. Rutgers keeps dreaming of that, but it really does not make much sense. They have no real football tradition and it seems most New Yorkers could care less about college football, but especially Rutgers. Just don't get it,

RE: Temple coming to Big East?
I don't really get how the new Big East is any worse than the old Big East to tell you the truth (with the way it stands now). Boise easily replaces WVU, and Syracuse/Pitt are as mediocre as they come (obviously talking from a football standpoint).
