two western students are taking over Broncoblitz.com...the rivals.com site for the broncos. Hopefully they are good and stick around awhile. I don't mind shelling out 10 bucks a month for Bronco info.

Front page free-be on the BSU vs WMU game is better than anything I've read in the Gazette (or online for that matter) since Couch and the paper for that matter, left.

Timing on this is very good, with the limited Gazette coverage, they could get some real traction.

The number one thing that would really make that site take off (and every pub complains about it) is the message board. It hasn't changed in 10 years. Still requires HTML coding to bold, etc. They've talked about upgrading it forever, but since Yahoo bought Rivals nothing ever seems to happen. They put no money into Rivals, but make some serious money off it. If they ever do upgrade it would help WMU athletics if the traffic here went there. Recruits and their parents read that site, and look at that message board. They have no idea this one even exists.

With a site like this, Broncoblitz isn't really necessary.

I'm actually the new publisher at BroncoBlitz. I'm really looking forward to it. Having message board traffic would be fantastic, but obviously an established site like this is an obstacle. Formatting issues as alluded to don't help, and having probably more overall MAC traffic at this site is a draw over ours as well. But, hopefully, if we can provide content at a high level, people will begin to discuss it there.

We only ask for a little patience as we work our way into better "insider" recruiting coverage. We've both followed WMU athletics (and to some degree recruiting) for years along with our writing experience, so it's a quick transition to writing about games and so forth, but covering and interviewing recruits is a new experience, so it'll take a bit of time to get into the swing of things. But we'll get there.

Good luck. Great time to get this back on track like others have said. Only problem is that your average fan probably has no clue about the site. You should do some advertising some how. (Bring banners to games or something???) I'm sure a lot of people would love to find the extra coverage.

From the sounds of it, it looks like CSNbbs.com is trying to go in the route of becoming a recruiting site? (More info here at Revenue sharing section http://csnbbs.com/announcements.php?aid=312 ) Since we already have an established crowd here, someone should jump on that, although I understand rivals is a lot more nationally recognized by recruits and such.
