All four of the men that have held the Commissioner's job for the ACC have had extensive ACC ties.
James H. Weaver was the former football coach and Athletic director of Wake Forest.
Robert James was a Maryland grad. and a three sport star for the Terps.
Gene Corrigan graduated from Duke and served as athletic director at UVa and Notre Dame before he became ACC comissioner.
John Swofford graduated from UNC. Served the Tar Heels as athletic director for 17 years before he became ACC commissioner
