Good read, "how occupy went wrong"
http://www.nypost.com/p/news/opinion/how...e=timeline
An acquaintance of mine is NYPD and said that this neighborhood has turned against Occupy because of their behavior.
Quote:“Occupy Our Homes” was that idea. The group would take over an empty house, foreclosed on by a bank, fix it up and provide shelter to a homeless family.
Sound nice right? so did Animal farm...
Quote:The excitement reached a crescendo when Councilman Charles Barron (D-Brooklyn) knocked on the door, decorated with a pine wreath for Christmas, and out came the homeless man who was moving in with his family, Alfredo Carrasquillo.
Still sounding wonderful right!
Except..
Quote:Last week,Wise Ahadzi opened the door to the house he still owns, 702 Vermont Street in East New York.
Quote:Ahadzi, 28, was the man Occupy didn’t want the public to know about. He owned the Vermont house but was forced to leave in 2009 when he couldn’t make the mortgage payments to Bank of America.
The single father knew he couldn’t raise his two girls, Kwazha, 9, and Imani, 3, with the threat of eviction hanging over him. They found a lower-cost rental in Brownsville while Ahadzi negotiated with the bank to get his house back.
The 'homeless' person being offered to live in the house is nowhere to be seen but what is?
Their efforts have actually made the neighborhood worse — because what used to be an empty house is now a hovel of squatters and probably should be condemned.

THis was a bad decision by the Occupy group(and the others who have done the same thing) and should be forced to pay any repairs neede to make the place livable and other compensation for the inconvenience. If they can find the Occupy members that endered and "fixed" the house and anyone(not children of course) who occupied the house, they should be charged with trespassing and any other applicable laws.

The world has seen Occupy in all its glory, and the world is disgusted in what it has seen. An unpopular, dirty, dangerous and unfocused radical fringe does not make change, it just makes buckets of feces.

I agree with Andrew Breitbart- they never had any redeeming value to start with.
As soon as the Occutards did grown out of the Parks, their "General Assembly" gets co-opted by hardcore subversives such as Black Bloc Anarchists, Labor Union front groups like "Good Jobs Great Houston" or extremist political parties like the "Socialist Workers Party" that now runs Occupy Houston.

What if the home at 702 Vermont St were owned by a wealthy person who was temporarily out of the country?
