Dixon named to Big East honor roll

UC senior guard Dion Dixon has been named to the Big East’s weekly honor roll.

Dixon scored a game-high 20 points with a pair of three-pointers and 8-of-10 shooting from the foul line in leading UC to a 62-57 victory over Seton Hall on Saturday. He also contributed five rebounds, five assists and two blocks against the Pirates. It was Dixon’s fourth 20-point game of the season and the seventh of his career. He passed Tom Thacker for 28th place on the school’s career scoring list with 1,167 career points.

Dixon recorded a career-high three blocks to go with seven points and six rebounds in UC’s 81-66 win over Providence on Wednesday.

For the week, Dixon averaged 13.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.5 blocks.
