RE: BIG GAME!
That game was hard to listen to on eh radio. It sounded like it must have been painful to watch at times. But all I care is:

9-5 IN THE FRICKIN' BIG EAST!!!!!!!!!

RE: BIG GAME!
It wasn't that bad to watch on tv until about the last 5 minutes of the game when UC played not to lose. It was entertaining. But they kept a 10 point lead most of the game, which is pretty good - they just did not put them away.

What was up with Gates today? He was pretty wound up - got the technical and seemed to question every call on him. I think it affected his play - he wasn't loose enough.

SH RPI before today was 30, so we were definitely not ahead of them before today, and possibly not after.

This actually will go down as a nice win for us with the committee.

The refs were being asshats. The tech was bs, some phantom calls, and he hardly ever gets the call down low, but when he's on D he gets touch fouls on him.

RE: BIG GAME!
I see someone gave Willie Cunningham a free ticket in the chairs behind the UC bench, though brief was his stay.

Must win & we did.

A dunking Gates is unstoppable.

Woo-Hoo!

Cats showed up when they needed to.

Maybe the worst officiated game of the year. Had those guys not sucked so badly, that would have been a blowout.

However, still alive and relevant. Next...

RE: BIG GAME!
It seemed to me that Brian O'Connell had it out for Gates. He called the technical, and seemed to eat his whistle when Yancy was getting pounded by triple teams on one end but nailed him and other Bearcats for touch fouls on the other.
Thought Theodore got away with murder most of the game, with lots of reaching in and pushing all day. Pope was throwing his big a$$ and hips into players on screens, never got called.

RE: BIG GAME!
I thought the officiating today was the first real time the officials let their personal biases get in the way of calling the game fairly towards Yancy.
The T called on Yancy was a joke. The other player initiated. I think O'Connell then decided to make sure "the Brawl II" didn't happen on his watch...not that it would've...and then called Yancy for every ticky tack touch and let the SH players play hack a Shak on Yancy.
Yancy should've gone to the line at least 3-4 times for being fouled. And having to endure being hacked while trying to put the ball in the basket affected his play.
I was proud to see Yancy just walk to the other end of the court when he was called for something ridiculous. I felt sorry for the big fellow.
Theodore is a very grabby player. He should've fouled out but got away with a lot.

I was just thinking about this week's game... Thursday at 9 PM on ESPN or the Deuce. A prime time opportunity for Burr or Higgins to show up 03-banghead

On the plus side, they couldn't do any worse than yesterday's crew, even if they are BOTH in the game 03-lmfao

RE: BIG GAME!
No doubt in my mind we get Burr or Higgins' crew. They have seniority and pick every prime time slot possible. This one is tailor made for Jim Burr.

Well, at least it's not Karl Hess.

Maybe Hess would try to throw out Oscar (that would be entertaining).

Speaking of, yesterday in the NC St.-FSU game Hess ejected former NC St. stars Tom Gugliotta and Chris Corchiani from their seats in the stands for berating him.

RE: BIG GAME!
With our luck it'll be Higgins, Burr and then either "Showtime" Hightower, Brian O'Connell from yesterday's game, or Karl "Show em the door" Hess. Or maybe Olsen (Huggins hated that ref) although I don't know if he still officiates anymore.

Who was the official that through Machock out of the Gonzaga debacle?

I do hope whoever the official is they call UofL for all of the body bumping and slapping they do on defense. There was a game a few years back when I think Pitino got T'd up becaseu he got exasperated by all of the perimeter touch fouls that were being called on his team. His defense just plays that way so I hope the officials for thursday night call that stuff on them.

Yesterday's officials let Theodore get away with murder on defense.

Mike Kitts

We'll know ahead of time who is officiating the game, Louisville will release the Officials for the game, in their game notes, usually comes out day before the game
