Just trying to lively up things here. WVU fans know the history of this great conference's programs and are looking forward to joining the party. WVU is going to have a BIG challenge next year. I would expect them to provide your teams a difficult game no matter who or where they play.

In reality WVU will have a pretty good looking football team coming in. The offense should get some yards and the defense could decide the quality of next years team.

You guys have just as good of a chance as anyone. Knocking off the Oklahoma duo will be the obvious key. Texas is still in rebuild it seems. Wonder how many years Mack has left.

If you do win, I wonder what the pundits will now say about the Big East, considering it's the same time that tied for two of the "leftovers"? Probably nothing.

Oklahoma does have to play in Morgantown this year, and OSU has lost their QB and best receivers. The schedule this season is setup for WVU to win the Big XII, and possibly the BCS Championship, if the Mountaineers are up to it...

I would say OU is the favorite, but WVU has a very good shot at winning the league.

Texas is loaded with talent everywhere but qb. If we get even average qb play then Texas has a shot.

Texas will have the best defense in the Big 12 by a large margin, maybe the best in the country, we are going to be dominant on that side of the ball.

It is all about qb play though, if Ash makes significant strides watch out, but I still say Texas is one to two years away.

This has been an interesting league the past few seasons. OU and Texas been the big dogs for sometime, but it seems that Tech, OSU, and even Kansas had a say in who won the title. The B12 certainly been underrated in regards to balance at the top. I think if WVU wants to have a legit shot at the title, their defense needs to step up.

CP, I don't think defense will be a problem. WVU has returning talent on the defensive side of the ball. Depth will be the major issue. But even that is improving...

Keep an eye out for DL Will Clarke...

Good thing about it now is - you can possibly lose one and not be dead in the water.

Texas will be very legit on defense, no doubt about that. But in this league you have to have at least a above average offense to win the conference title as good offenses will score (even on the Texas defense). Baylor scored 48 on the Horn defense last year.

As I said I don't think we will win the conference next year and you are correct Baylor did put 48 up on us, but Baylor did have Robert Griffin III and we had Case Mccoy.

If Texas doesn't turn the ball over 5 times in that game Baylor doesn't put up that many points.

Its all about our qb play. In my opinion we had the worst group of qb's in the country last year and we still won 8 games primarily because of our defense.

The Texas defense will do very well, but this is an offensive league and teams will score on us but not near as much as everyone else.

Our offense has to improve, we will have 3 outstanding rb's but if the qb play is as bad as its been the past 2 years we will finish middle of the pack again.

If Ash just plays mediocre that would be a drastic improvement and we would have a shot, though I wouldn't put money on us.

I still say OU wins the league next year.

We'll see how good Texas defense is when Geno Smith rolls into Austin. He passed for 463 yards against LSU last year...
