One hell of a game earlier tonight at Bartow, UAB 50 , SMU 46.

Amber Jones, Lashunda Pratt, and Nakia McDaniel come through with timely 3 point buckets at very crucial times in the game. Give credit to SMU, who played a very determined and gritty game in their own right, trailing by as much as 10 at one time, only to come roaring back and even taking the lead late in the game, they are far better than their record would indicate, wish I had a copy of their roster so I could tell you the names of some of their standout players.

I don't have the game stats on me, they're in my car, but I'm telling you, it was a war of atrition out there!!! Another entertaining nailbiter! Congratulations, UAB Ladies and Coach Smith!!!!

I have no problem saying that the Ladies matchup of the Blazers & Ponies was much more intriguing and impressionable game than their male counterparts the night before. Let the jokes about the ladies outscoring (and quite frankly, outplaying) the men begin!!!!

Had a great time. SMU hurt us inside but we overcame it with timely 3 point baskets. Good defense down the stretch to close it out.

Meghan "went Mutumbo" on them at the right time...

She should have shook her finger at the other girl like Mutumbo.

That one block where they called the SMU player for the charge was one of the most impressive I have ever seen, men's or women's basketball. The SMU player drove right at Meghan and went up for the shot. Meghan just stood there with her hands straight up and caught the shot a split second after it left the SMU players hand as she crashed into her. The refs just stood there looking at each other trying to figure out what to call... Block? Charge? Jump Ball? Finally one of the refs just sort of shrugged and called the SMU player for a charge.

She would have been "T'd up" by one of refs if they'd seen her. So I did it for her! The "Zebras" had their hands full just trying to get into position, the pace that both teams was setting was like watching a damn good tennis match!

Great game. Blazer fans need to step up and support this team as well.
